Melbourne imported froyo spotted in TPY!!! Super near to creamier. The sweetness and sourness was very well balanced and the flavors were pronouncedly brought out. It was very smooth as well. My fave has gotta be mango & soy and chocolate. They've other unique flavors like green tea, coconut and pomegranate! Their toppings are not the usual ones you see as well, from chia seeds (for the health conscious) to cheesecake and rocky road. There's bound to be something you like from the wide variety that they've to offer. Going at $3.8/100g, I don't think I will crave for Sogurt anymore! Frozen is the way to go! (Just that it's a little far from home šš)
Donut with salted egg dip ($7): donuts tasted pretty much like those which you could easily get from bakeries/four leaves. The salted egg wasn't rich enough in flavor, it wasn't salty enough neither sweet as well. I envision the taste of the fillings of Liu sha bao but it was far from that.... $7 for 6 donuts was a rip off IMHO. Go for the cakes instead, the cacao Barry truffle chocolate cake ($7) was everything I love, the mousse to cake ratio was perfect (I dislike cakes that's entirely made up of mousse even if it's chocolate). The cake was rich yet not cloyingly sweet šš butterscotch arabica choux ($6): puff pastry filled with chocolate ganache and butterscotch sauce and topped with coffee cream. Photogenic and great tasting at the same time šš
Pandan ice cream waffles with Gula Melaka ($8.9) - the waffles were crispy and full of eggy fragrance, the Gula Melaka sauce that was just the right amount of sweetness went well with the waffles. The flavor of the pandan ice cream however, was very subtle and it didn't quite work for me, tasted a little weird after a while.
Smoked sawdust pudding ($5) - I LOVE THIS!!! The pudding was light and tasted a lot like milk, the crumbs that came along with it was soft and airy šš
There's something about waffles that I cannot resist and must order whenever I see it on the menu. Ordered my waffle with a scoop of yuzu sherbet (outsourced). There's still room for improvements for the waffles š
One of my fave place to go for waffles. Their yummy waffles paired with salted caramel ice cream (my fave) I could easily finish one full waffle by myself even after a heavy dinner. I would also order their root beer cake whenever I'm there šš
OMG this chocolate crumble croissant is the bombz. Mega love it. It was served to me warm and when I cut it opened, the chocolate was melted. Imagine my heart!!! Usually the ones that I'm served just has the lump of chocolate there. But THIS. IS. MELTED. HOLY. and the crumbles are just so crunchy. It's like crunchy and soft and chewy at the same time. Hehehe. Coffee was good, obviously.
The carbonara and burger as recommended by the staff was pretty decent but no wow factor. Truffle fries and truffle mushroom soup was also normal. Have had better ones.
I don't think this place need any recommendations. The waffles and the root beer cake is a must when you're there. Tried the carrot cake and flourless chocolate cake as well, not too bad but not my favorite. Hehe
Love the mentaiko fries, the sauce was just mmhmm and the fries were really well fried. Hehe. The pork belly although not recommended by the staff was pretty outstanding considering that I do not like pork belly. The mash sweet potato that came along with the pork belly was also pretty refreshing as well šš worth every penny. The grub cheeseburger did not fair as well considering it was one of the signature dishes, would not say it's not nice but it didn't stand out from the other burgers I've had. Needless to say, the churros was good, served together with vanilla and dark chocolate sauce. Yummy. But carol found the dark chocolate too strong and masking the original taste of the churros.
