I think at this point I kind of got the idea that the accompanying sauces were really stars of the dishes. I’ve never had ox tongue before but my dining companion mentioned it was chewier than other cuts of meat. I had half imagined the texture to be like agar agar but this wasn’t like that at all! Sure the texture wasn’t as soft but still a delight to have, especially when seasoned with thyme (I’m a sucker for thyme). The bagna cauda was AMAZING. I polished off the sauce even when no ox tongue was left on my plate.

The grilled octopus looked a lot like scallops so I had a bit of a shock when I bit into it (yes I need to pay attention to the menu more). The grilled octopus was generously salted and paired really well with the olive’s chimichurri which neutralise did the saltiness.
As for the pork belly, couldn’t remember much but I really enjoyed the crunchiness of the boniato & the addition of avocado (because millennials love their avocado)

The line caught Snapper was really fresh & the acidity from the yellow Tiger’s milk was refreshing gave a good awakening to my senses, which prepared my appetite well for the dishes that followed after.

Exactly how I like my drunken chicken, cold yet tender and drenched in alcohol taste with every bite. Using the finest Huadiao wine for this, I honestly could get drunk on this.

This dish was so unassuming yet delivers such a punch to your senses when you’ve savoured it in your mouth. The truffle oil greatly compliments the yellow noodles used in this dish. If you’re a fan of the pork lard bits in your Chinese dishes, you’ll be happy with the generous bits that have been sprinkled in this dish.
Big chunks of lobster meat, avocado slices and very well-seasoned with Japanese sesame sauce. The cashew nuts that were mixed into this dish was also a good touch to the salad. Very satisfying lunch option

This was the first time I’ve ever had Truffle Ramen & I have to say that I’m sold. Just like wasabi, Truffle is a rather acquired taste. A part of me was weary that the Truffle smell and taste would be too overwhelming. But the Truffle turned out to be a good pairing to each of the individual items in this bowl of ramen goodness. The noodles were cooked al dente with a slight chewiness that I love. You can’t go wrong with an onsen egg. You also get to choose whether you’ll want lean or fatty char siew for your meat. The char siew is cooked in a more Chinese style than the usual Japanese way. All in all a very comforting and affordable bowl of ramen noodles that’s perfect for a rainy day.

Had this as part of their set lunch donburi promotion. When the rice bowl came I thought the portion looked rather small but by the end of it I was struggling to finish my meal. The set came with green tea and miso soup. The soup was sweeter than most miso soups I’ve had. The chicken was adequately glazed, the meat and rice proportion was done well. I mentioned to Manager Nicole that I wished I had more teriyaki sauce to go along with my meal, but she mentioned that there were other guests who thought there was too much sauce initially. So if you’re conscious about your sodium intake, this donburi’s proportion should be just right for you. Or if you are like me, who wish to have your rice drenched in teriyaki glazed sauce (just thinking about it makes my stomach growl), just simply request for more sauce & they’ll be happy to add an extra scoop or two.

Affordable roast beef bowl that had the perfect proportion of rice to roast beef. The rice was drizzled with tare, wrapped in the roast beef and topped with an onset egg and sour cream sauce. The items are flavourful and did not need the addition of soy sauce or other condiments. I wished there was wasabi on the side to give it that additional kick to the dish.

I’ve never been a burger fan, mostly due to a traumatic experience with Omakase Burger. When we arrived the place was packed full of people. You can tell a place does their food from the heart when many of the patrons are friends of the place and you see staff regularly going up to patrons to give a hi-five or a hug. The service staff was nice to have preempted us on the 40minutes waiting time and when we got our food, Park Bench Deli delivered it in 30minutes. The wait was worth it. While the burger could’ve been warmer (it was not piping hot when we received it, probably cause there was just too many people and assembling of the burgers just took too long) the burger itself was so well-flavoured. The lightly grilled butter-lathered bun encompassed the tender beef patty with pickles and cheese. I’m not a pickle fan (& also slightly regretted not requesting beforehand to remove it) but I gladly wolfed it down, the acidity of the pickle just went so well with the bun and the patty. I heard that the mark of a good cheeseburger is the cheese pull, so I’m happy to report that there was some cheese pulling action going on. The chilli fries came packed with chilli and minced beef and each fry being well tossed in salt. The meal here was definitely the highlight of my Sunday.

I had the Ebi Shoyu Ramen before and the smell of prawn was too overwhelming for me. When I ordered this I was a little worried since the overwhelming prawn taste might clash with the curry taste. However, both ingredients worked really well together, where both did not try to overpower the other. The curry taste was light and made for a good soup to go down with the noodles. The set came along with 2 sides of your choice and a dessert. Worth every penny and will visit again for yummy ramen especially when it’s rainy.
