Featuring the use of matcha powder from The Matcha Project , this was one that guarantees repeated visits. Incredibly smooth and luscious is the mouthfeel of the latte, the matcha distinct without any unwanted astringency. Having had my fair share of Matcha Lattes, its tough finding one where the matcha and milk blends together so harmoniously and all of these at an incredibly affordable price of $5 ☺️ .
Served with tofu, tempeh and side salad. The tofu was a little too salty and oily, though the chicken thankfully wasn't. It was tender and juicy, though i felt it could have been more flavourful
A refreshing dessert that i'd totally recommend to order, especially after all the oily food.
Comprising of crushed ice, coconut milk, grass jelly, nata de coco more, it was surprisingly not too sweet. The size is definitely good for sharing too
Should be called a smoothie/milkshake due to the rather thick consistency of the drink (oh and this was under the dessert rather than drink section of the menu actually😹)
You can choose to have this with or without chocolate (which is the streaks you see here) Would recommend doing away with the chocolate because it totally masks the flavour of the drink otherwise
The soup was really flavourful, but was a tad too oily for my liking😅 I would say they are really generous with the amount of ingredients, so the price is actually quite worth it. The meat is also quite tender!
Maybe its because of the "Belachan", i had the impression this would be super spicy, so i asked for mine to be done "less spicy", and it ended up being "no spicy" instead😹 Perhaps getting it at normal spice level would have been ideal...
No french fries but these are sooo much better ✨ Essentially fried potatoes, these were soo good the entire plate was wiped out in seconds. Our homestay owners obviously got the hint, with our subsequent meals having an increased amount of these deep fried goodness😌 Thought I would lose weight in India but apparently I was very wrong ya 😹
A snack called Khurma which got me addicted from the first bite, though the hardness/crunchiness of it deters quite a few (word of caution: don't bite on it with your front teeth unless you want to be toothless ya) Don't really know how to describe the taste, but they are essentially like fried dough sticks(?) Best part is that it costs only 1 Rupee per piece, which is like 2 cents..
While the Toppokki had a texture that was a tad too soft and sticky for me ( i like those really fat and chewy ones haha) the cheese top-up (+$2) was really quite shiok. Was half expecting to be presented with a sad slice of cheese (you'd be surprise at how often i get that😟) but what came was instead a thick blanket of melted mozzarella that went perfectly with the spicy sauce😋 .
A pretty light-tasting dish with barely any other flavour besides that of steamed eggs. I wonder how many eggs went into this, as the portion is generous for sure, with the stone pot being deeper than I thought it was, and the fluffy cloud of steamed egg didn't sink as i thought it would😹 The creamy consistency of the steamed egg was enjoyable, though only in the initial part because it gets cooked more as you leave it in the stone pot (the parts of the dish in contact with the stone pots were entirely charred because we were too slow haha😅) .
For when you're craving something warm and comforting , the army stew does the trick, coming with a generous amount of ingredients such as noodles, rice cakes, spam, baked beans etc and also a huge block of cheese. However, perhaps the cheese perhaps muted the flavour of the stew a little, so i thought it would be great if the spice level of the army stew could be adjusted based on individual preferences, as the stew leaned more towards the sweet-sourish side which does nothing but to tickle the tastebuds of spice lovers 😊 .
Rich, chocolatey and not too sweet. This simple scoop of a classic flavour is one that is super satisfying and keeps me going back for more!
