TGIF dinner! Open 24hrs, look out for the neon lights along the streets to locate this hole in the wall.

Top 3 favs were the century egg porridge (generous amt of ingredients, super flavourful), crispy carrot cake (crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, amazing), and the longan sea coconut desert (not too sweet). Brilliant conclusion to another week.

"Do you speak Japanese?" "Yes!" "Wow, really" "Yes, so does everybody else here!", chatted the waitress excitedly - in japanese! She then went on to share that there's a salad buffet, ice kacang machine, candy floss machine that we can help ourselves to!

We were pleased with the food that we received for the price we paid. A small don bowl, but with the free flow salad buffet and dessert, it was still a satisfying meal in a comfy environment.

We were walking around vivocity, looking for a satisfying meal after a tough day at work, when we finally settled on this London Fat Duck.

"Is it from London?" "But the style and setting totally screams Hong Kong?", we mused. Apparently, this is a Singapore stall set up by local groups.

The duck was succulent, BBQ pork tender, and together with the chilli sauce, absolutely on point. After this meal, I want to proudly declare "Yay Singapore!" YUMS.

Our first breakfast together before work. Not the most romantic of places, but convenient, with a decent range and affordable food. Priorities when one has to wake up earlier heheh.

I enjoyed the crispy ikan billis, and the spicy/savoury long beans (will probably go better with rice - next time then!). But more so than anything, even the non-crowded hawker centre (huge difference from the weekends), it's the company that made this breakfast great.

There are 2 kway chap stalls along the same stretch, with queues at both stalls when we were there. On my colleague's recommendation, we took this stall!

The kway chap was really tasty with a good broth. Really enjoyed the duck, egg, taukwa, and preserved vegs. Oh, and chilli was shioks too! Will be glad to return to satisfy any kway chap cravings!

Grabbed lunch with the family at Skinny Pizza since we happened to be in the area.

Squid ink was used to make both the sauce as well as the crispy thin crust - the crust was so good dad tried to compare it to keropok, but soon realised this was not only much thinner, but also tasted so different. The toppings of seafood and rockets were also fresh. Delicious meal overall!

Breakfast at the base camp of Mt. Rinjani (2700m) under the warm hospitality of Guide Aduk and team from Rinjani Trekking Club.

With the cold mountain wind blowing, we were pleasantly surprised with this warm bowl of soto ayam prepared kindly by Aduk and his team. Thick soup with the fragrance of coconut milk, full of vegetables, and even chicken and egg, it's truly a wondeful experience enjoying soto ayam among the mountains.

It is in places like these when food truly fills more than your stomach.

Lunch on the mountains with Guide Aduk from Rinjani Trekking Club.

It's no easy feat to get this meal. Since there's no cooking facilities or transport available on the mountains, the local porters had to carry everything required to prepare this meal, including the ingredients, utensils, even a gas stove (!), in baskets which they carried over their backs while trekking across the savanna and up the slopes with us. Perhaps its the amount of effort required to prepare the meal, or that we really worked up a good appetite, this simple meal of fresh nasi campur rarely tastes as good.

Freshly fried keropok, toufu, tempeh, and chicken, with a delicious mix of sweet & savoury stir fried potatoes, carrots, cabbage, vegs, and egg. Thank you Aduk and team, for the food and assistance, for sure you will be missed.

Many thanks to my friends for indulging me as we tried out this fable of a healthy pancake. This was actually our second attempt - we arrived around 8pm on our first visit by which the shop was already closing.

No regrets at the end of day! The pancake pleasantly surprised us all - it tasted healthy (kudos to the 7 grains batter receipe), yet still fluffy, and not too sweet. The pancakes were served warm, and went really well with the cold ice cream and matcha cream. Sweet potatos were good too - crispy exterior, soft insides, warm. Nice ambience at the cafe for catchups and conversation, coupled with this tea time treat, I'll be hard pressed to come up with a better way to while away the weekend (and I doubt my friends will disagree too!)

Walking up and down the food/restaurants aisle at Kallang Wave Mall level 1, we were finally persuaded by the truly enthusiastic staff at the entrance of Aone to enter the restaurant (it was almost 9pm, and he was still willing to go through the menu with us! - kudos to him). I mean, I just typically don't have much feels for eating atas porridge. However, we were glad to find that there was claypot rice available as well, and they were actually priced reasonably!

Fast forward through the steamed peanuts (average, but still lovely), we finally got our claypot rice. Generous servings of chicken, mushrooms, & vegs; sweet and savoury; and the claypot toasted the rice very nicely as well! Thankful for this good meal at a rather late timing after the few rounds at the stadium nearby. An enjoyable dinner, no doubt contributed by both the good food and service!

One of the family's regular haunts. This time, this was where we had our final lunch together before the family flew off to Australia while I stayed in Singapore. Ah time really does fly by so quickly.

The soup is flavourful and eggy, just how I enjoy it. The wings juicy and crispy, and the omelette fresh and rich. Tofu is soft, accompanied with small amounts of vegs and prawns.

Not your regular fried chicken or roast steak kind of comfort food, but for me who has been frequenting this place since I was a young girl of 10 or so, this does bring a timeless sense of comfort and familiarity.

Heard about fatboy's years ago and finally got the chance to try this place! I took so long to go through the extensive menu, before settling on this seemingly classic burger.

A good burger of thick juicy beef patty, crisp sesame buns, with cheese and sweet onion marmalade. Fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside. Wishing there was more vegetables, but then again, I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish it at all. A great place for meat-lovers!
