I tried 4 flavs – Pistachio (has some sort of candied nut inside), Mandarin Orange, Blue Pea Vanilla and Apple Cucumber. ps sorry to the staff cos we literally taste tested every single flav before deciding... My fav was unexpected cos when things are coloured with blue pea flower, it tends to be for a gimmick LOL......but they top their creamy vanilla with black sea salt and this was what sold me on this ice cream 💦 it had great texture too and wasn’t too icy!

The pistachio and mandarin were nice too but it wasn’t super mind-blowing either 😶 what I found interesting was the Apple Cucumber sorbet! It was pretty delicious (tho Sarah didn’t like it HAHAHAHA) but had a funky texture (like ground up apples). I did like how refreshing and unique it was as a flavour!

Oh and they have a nice toasty Lavender Cone to go along with the ice creams (personally I think lavender tastes like how air fresheners smell, so it wasn’t all that for me)

Verdict: 7.5/10 (good but not the best, though they’re a pretty good option in the Town area for ice cream!!)

I’ve always been a fan of Shake Shack’s burgers since day one and I have never been disappointed by them, no matter how many times I visit. The patties are always juicy and flavourful, the cheese is oozy and melty and since I order the Smoke Shack, I always enjoy the smoked peppers inside. It’s simply one of the most perfect burgers ever!

Bonus: get cheese fries and ask for sauce on the side. When you’re about to finish your burger, dip it into that cheese and just explode with happiness.

Verdict: Always a 10/10

This brunch was a hefty one – both price wise and portion wise! I’m not really the biggest advocate for overpriced brunch food but FOCR’s portions and concoctions do justify their price points.
Loved this dessert-ish breakfast flourished with fresh flowers, nuts, berries and cheese cream! It was eye-catching and mouthwatering, for sure.
The iced mocha was delicious but was definitely more acidic that I normally prefer. I did like the strength of the chocolate flavour though!

Verdict: 8.5/10

One cup of coffee is never enough for me so I got a cup of iced white from Elixir Boutique Roasters. Past the milk, the acidity was not too forward and I liked the milk chocolate flavour notes and even a hint of roasted nuts.

Had my eye on this place since they have Burpple 1-for-1 deals but since I had such a packed day ahead for eating, I’ll definitely be back for more mains the next time I’m in the area!

Verdict: 8/10

I ordered an iced mocha at Micro Bakery and Kitchen, as I always do at cafes. It was a great accompaniment to the Parmesan Scone but also, I felt it was very strong and robust in flavour – definitely perked me up. Not as chocolatey as I imagined or hoped, but still a decently refreshing iced mocha!

Verdict: 7.5/10

Finally made my way down to Micro Bakery and Kitchen at Bukit Timah and I already planned a day of eating, so I chose a smaller bite to accompany some early morning coffee. Got the Parmesan Scallion Scone and even though I don’t naturally gravitate towards scones I really do like this one – it’s not as dry, though still quite crumbly, as other scones and is super buttery and the parmesan was a great addition!

Definitely coming back for their tartines and toasts!!

Verdict: 7.5/10

Back at Dopa Dopa and tried their Green Tea with Toasted Rice gelato again – it’s better than I remembered! Super fragrant green tea flavour comes through with the smoky, almost savoury toasted rice flavour! Their pistachio ice cream was also good, as usual!

Verdict: 9/10

I think I have an unhealthy obsession with Alchemist Coffee... But yes, I finally visited them at their new(ish) outlet at Design Orchard!! It’s on the third floor but you can just walk all the way up the steps past the green vines – don’t walk up via the side and make one huge round like me and bubz LOL
As usual, I always order their iced mocha but their iced chocolate is worthy of a mention too!

HOWEVER, the real star of the show has to be the Chocolate Almond Croissant 😭 it’s part of their new lineup of pastries 🥐 I thought I loved their pain au chocolat, but this is OODLES better?? I really like how crumbly and flaky the almond crust is on top!

Verdict: 10/10 (as always w my favourite coffee place; now nearer to school)

I used to work near Tai Seng so I had the chance to go to Prodigal Cafe and try their Grilled Cheese. It was MASSIVE and it was chocked full of the ooey gooey cheese. Was really delicious and I even saved another half of it for lunch the next day!

Verdict: 8.5/10

I was recommended to eat at Chirashi King Konh by so so many people and I have to say I now understand why it was on the tip of so many people’s tongues.

The salmon was fresh and 6 thick cut slices sat atop a strongly truffled mushroom and garlic rice. The mentaiko sayce was generously drizzed and then torched. The don was also topped with wakame seaweed and sesame jellyfish which were above the usual average for those particular jap sides in SG.

Super affordable for a filling mentaiko bowl!!

Verdict: 9.5/10

I previously had a bad experience with 108 Matcha Saro when they first opened at Suntec because of the ridiculous service but I’m glad I gave them another shot!

I ordered the Warabimochi Parfait with Matcha Soft Serve and Matcha Sauce – it came with a scoop of sweet red bean paste, 2 chewy warabi mochi chunks and some brown sugar jelly bits at the bottom! Each component was delicious and complemented the overall flavour of the matcha, which was super rich and decadent.

Verdict: 9/10

I had some of the most amazing dumplings at @dumpling.darlings the other night!! Other than being super affordable, these dumplings were really one of the most delicious I’ve eaten in Singapore!!
A dumpling platter is $20 for 15 dumplings (5 flavs, 3 pieces each)! My fav dumplings were the Curry Momo (with Impossible meat) and the Pierogi (cheese, potato and bacon) 🤤 smth interesting they have is their Dessert Dumplings (poached pear and Tasmanian ice cream)

The Miso Mushroom noodles ($6) were really nice and filling too!!

Verdict: 10/10 (affordable and super delish!!!)
