Beautiful, quiet, with a chic korean lady manning the counter. 'Caramel latte~?' It's my dream cafe, and the caramel latte felt like the one I had in Seoul π Just... the coffee can be more fragrant π
Boss of the place is a pretty old uncle, seeing him frying the fishies though the glass window, everything suddenly feel nostalgic even though I am in the middle of POMO. Uncle wears a shirt printed with their signature bottles of malt vinegar. The vinegar might not change the dish vastly, but it truly is something different and I'm glad they held on to it π
The berry flavor was really really deeppppp. It's like yogurt shaved ice? Very milky π But! I didn't choose any toppings as the tiny bowls are tiny. LOL.
Raw food isn't something my stomach like, I guess π Oatmeal pancake with black sesame ricotta, pumpkin, and raw veggies. Omg. At least I tried. HAHA. To each his own. Their special item changes every so often.
The gelato scoops were so huge! Tried many flavors but chose the first two that I tried - Speculoos and Salted Caramel Crackers in the end as they stood out the most. The gelato was so smooth and deeply flavored, it's really difficult to stop licking xD
And nope, these aren't from the Putian restaurant; it's under a HDB block. HDB prices but omg, the lor mee tasted exactly as good, or even better! π Like that they won't complain about the prices for putian food anymore π
But I can't really taste any beets haha. The desserts are totally worth it though! And the cosy, kinda out-of-this-world feel of this place π
But this pear tart is so fragrant and flaky! It's not heavy, and I savored it to the very last mouth π while sneaking glances at the live baking just within the window too π
But it's at their pop up booth! And it's free SALTED EGG ice cream! Salted egg! With dry ice for ultimate dramatic effect and weird toppings galore πππ. It tasted like the real salted egg yolk but isn't overkill at all! What magic is this. I really like it. Giannnnnn.
'cause the flavors are wonderful, and so satisfying. the effort and freshness π±π±π± jiu shi different! π
Didn't expect much because we were taking the 1 for 1 pasta deal, but even their simpliest sounding pastas were so high quality π± We ordered the pesto genovese and neapolitan and both sauces are definitely not out of a canπ the pasta also feels like real different from the run of the mill noodles, almost handmade? wonder why. perfectly al dente with a very good bite to it!
Pun intended. Didn't order the bowls as I still can't get my mind around paying a ton for vegs, so I ordered from the all day brunch menu instead. Char siu with poached eggs (and a hunk of avocado) are something new, and the perfectly done char siu come in generous servings - not overly salty at all! Friend couldn't 'find' the ninja rice he added though, the rice was a true ninja ππ° So the bowls are out for me even though the flavour combis are daring. There's a unique chill out feel which made me feel like I'm in another country. Everyone's in a loud, chill out mode too, so no whispering π
