Definitely a different experience; you gotta feel it for yourself. Gravy has a lemony tinge which I'm not used to (lemon zest?) but the sense of nostalgia, well cooked food, large plates and uncle's way of chionging are all worth admiring😁
Went for 阿果's merch sale and also to nua at the cafe there, 'cause the local vintage-y feel is irresistable. What's more chill than chilling in a backend of a bookstore? Bakes are normal though, so I would rather just drink, and drink in the cozy atmosphere 😊 And chit chat~ of course.
But I can't really taste any beets haha. The desserts are totally worth it though! And the cosy, kinda out-of-this-world feel of this place 😁
But this pear tart is so fragrant and flaky! It's not heavy, and I savored it to the very last mouth 😍 while sneaking glances at the live baking just within the window too 😂
Or drunk on queuing? We went to look see Western Co. but the queue was tai over le (poor bosses lei I mean...). So Hungry Heroes and Old Hen, to check things off 😁 The place is not big, but much cozier than expected because everyone seems to be enjoying their light conversations, even the bosses 😁 The special decos (fan blades and covers on lightbulbs, i wanna try diy too!) really added a lovely touch to the place. There's heart 😉😉😉 And needless to say, the coffee was special too, when they take the extra effort to rec you the better batch of coffee 😊 Nano Challa is the name.
The crepes were still so moist, and the creme's sweetness was just perfect with a tinge of honey to it? I really didn't expect it to be so awesomeeeee. It was blissful eating this. Then again, this isn't mass-produced, so... :D
A different feel eating here - uncles milling around, rushing to ask you to order drinks and delivering fishball noodles to the wrong table. Cheese smell of the carbonara was strong which I like, and the roasted pepper pesto pasta was special, tasted kinda like a heavier, more aromatic bolognese (actually it's roasted peppers and nuts i guess? :D) Heng they ran out of penne, and not their linguine!
Having one final dinner before they shut their doors. I will miss the knickknacks and cosy lights :( Had the pork ribs and lentils as the last meal here... Thanks for the memories.
this flavour is really special because it seems to contain streaks and chunks of biscotti spread. it's creamy and fragrant, I loved it! and it's not overly sweet too, just nice! ^^
a small shop at the basement of Square 2, the chef serves up the food wth dedication. observing his serious face while he cooks up a storm, i could see his dedication to his food. i think the pasta could use some heavier seasoning to give it a boost, but the fish was totally awesome. crunchy and flavorful, perfect if there was beer to go along with it xD
drinking kopi gu you and kopi siu dai, watching uncle in his precious pjs and listening to old songs playing from another uncle's... tablet. hi uncle :)
With warm airy pancakes, crispy egg, oozy mozzarella and thick caramelized bacon, I felt like this was truly breakfast bliss. This is how all breakfasts/brunches should be... Comforting and warming you up from the inside 😍
