Mango cream, fruit, coconut jelly and vanilla ice cream. Great dessert for a stinging hot day in North Jakarta
Hock Seng noodles (mine use kwetiau tho), originally from Medan, North Sumatera. A bowl-full of seafood and a bit of pork goodness. Love their clear yet flavorful broth, and the coriander leaves give a fresh after taste #lunch #latepost #burpple
Another Saturday baking project by me & my sister.. Can't find graham crackers for the crust, but we manage by using whole wheat digestive biscuits.
Making homemade chicken katsu in this rainy day, serve with emergency tonkatsu sauce (1 tbsp ketchup + 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce). Need to practice my sogigiri cutting technique more 😔
Skyve's Gloria ($19) - in terms of ambience to quality of food this place win hands down. One of my favorite hangout venue. The price is slightly on the higher side but quality matches up to it. Combination of the English muffin, runny eggs, spiced tomato concasse and spinach went really well. Thumbs up!
On the left: pan fried boneless chicken thigh, garlicky french beans and moyashi, red rice and sambal matah. On the right: red rice, garlicky french beans and moyashi, sambal matah and crispy shrimp & sambal Bu Rudy (the crispy shrimp and sambal Bu Rudy are store bought tho, very famous in Surabaya)
Love their seasoned beansprouts which goes well as appetizer or side dish. Saw the chef in work making this the other night. All the seasoning used are from Japan. Best of all it's FOC!
Today's lunch box. Korean beef bowl.. Find this recipe on steamykitchen.com. Very easy, and pack with veggies too.. I think you could easily change the beef to chicken.
Trying out new pancakes recipe using sour cream.. So light and fluffy (using only 7 tbsp of all-purpose flour). I like to top it off wit honey, but husband love to drench it with caramel sauce (hmm.. Talk about sweet tooth)
If you want Malaysian Cze Char, but really don't want to be stuck in the causeway jam for 2 hours, then this is a good alternative (unfortunately at Singapore price tag). Awesome food. Always a crowd here.
This is my take on Nigel Slater's bolognese sauce that I found in Food52 website. I omit couple of things tho, like the pancetta (I honestly forgot to buy this) and celery stalk (can't find it in the supermarket). It's kinda spur at the moment try out.. Despite all the fuss of chopping up the onion, carrot, tomato, an hour long of braising with broth and red wine. It's all worth it!
