Modern Rice Bowls
Current Lunch Situation: Truffle Hon Shimeiji and Tare Marinated Skirt Steak Rice Bowl with Onsen Tamago. I love the generous serving of beef and that glorious 72°C poached egg.
Expect other comforting lunch & brunch items like the Pulled Pork rice bowl, Coffee Waffle, Salted Egg Onion Rings and more. The fact that the good folks here doesn't include any service charge would make me want to come back for more.
One of the best Asian rice bowls I had that was packed with flavours and textures. I love the flaky buttery poached cod fillet paired with Japanese wakame seaweed, pickled lotus root, grilled shimeiji and onsen egg.
All the goodness at $18 in a bowl, comes with a side salad and drink during lunch. The friendly and good service is worth a mention, plus the atmosphere of this whole place imo was just too amazing.
Always loving the lunch exclusive deals at Sumiya and this is where salmon papa meets his children and grandchildren.
If you're in town looking for some fresh sashimi and charcoal grill, you might not want to miss this rare chance of witnessing the 40kg Bluefin Tuna Cutting show on 21st May, Thu 7pm and savour some of the freshest cut at the rooftop of Orchard Central.
Reservations are highly recommend to secure a seat. Don't say I never say.
Another Chirashi bowl conquered and off my watchlist. Here's Tburu, a semi fine-dining sushi grill concept restaurant bar hidden on the 5th level of Orchard Gateway (Crate & Barrel side).
The space here is really gorgeous, I love the natural lighting coming through the high glass windows and the outdoor terrace that's perfect for private parties and events. Food wise, the Chirashi set comes with an appetizer, chawanmushi, cabbage, daily and green tea. They could do better by reducing the rice portion and perhaps more generous with the sashimi and cut.
Fresh, generous thick cuts of sashimi bowl only at $25. Nothing short of Chikuwa Tei's standard, this is a new concept of its sister Manzoku. Have you tried them yet?
Koji Sushi Bar - Choose from a range of Donburi such as pork cheek rice bowl, tuna tartare rice bowl, salmon avocado tartare rice bowl, unagi rice bowl, salmon with roe rice bowl or the best selling sashimi rice bowl.
All individual portion ($17+) comes with white or brown rice option and include a salad and soup. Add $3 for the sous-vide-style egg or better known as Onsen Tamago served with gentle broth for the mouth-watering experience. Walk-in for lunch and reservations accepted for dinner only.
Set lunch served with salad, miso soup and dessert
$10 Budget dinner
Assorted seafood chunks on rice served on the lunch set menu is priced at only $18.80, but not available on the dinner menu. Special request for the mixed bara kaisen at dinner would cost you $35 a bowl.
One of the most affordable sashimi rice bowls in Singapore. The chirashi here is simple and not that fancy as compared to other chirashi I had. This one consist decent slices of salmon, tuna, shrimp, octopus, scallops, and tamago.
Marinated assortment of fresh sashimi, tamago, shredded seaweed and topped with toboki served in a rice bowl.
