this hokkien mee is a slightly moist version. the noodles soaked up the flavours really well and it was very enjoyable for me. with a few random pieces of the treasured pork lards, those bites were especially precious and delightful. the sambal was not exactly spicy. i could do with abit more heat so the chilli did not really make an impact on the dish for me.

but the fried shallots did enhanced the dish to a new level. crispy and crunchy, these small bits provided a surprising bite to the otherwise slurpy noodle dish. and i do not even like fried shallots usually. very interesting and well thought finish touch. i would definitely queue for this again.

i think i levelled up already. the matcha was not siap to me at all. simple combination of ice cream and azuki was good enough. but i especially loved the sesame crisp thing. even more so than the rice puffs.

mochi was chewy. like chewy nice. the tang yuan sauce was very familiar and it suddenly hit her when we were both racking our brains for a good 5min. the taste is super similar to the soon kueh black sauce. 😂 the chocolate was powdered with the flavour of your soft serve flavour, similar to the mochi. not bitter at all. but its good chocolate.

overall, a very satisfying dessert. would still order in the future if we have the stomach space. and this time, it was super worth it thanks to beyond.

got ourselves a mutton briyani, sambal prawn and mango lasso this time round. same as our previous meal here, rice was quite bland but flavourful after mixing everything together. the mutton was tender and it was not too gamey. i could accept it.

the sambal prawn tasted very home cooked with a nice seafood aftertaste. mango lassi is your normal sweet mango smoothie to beat the heat. these were enough for the both of us.

abit overkill cos the mains were too large a portion and we ordered one each. he got a sheng mian and i got this braised seafood beehoon. shared a salted egg popcorn chicken and luncheon meat omelette.

the braised seafood beehoon was a surprising win. well simmered with the beehoon soaking up all the zhap. my new staple from this stall. asked for sambal belachan to enhance the taste further but the sambal belachan fell short of expectations. it was not even spicy.

it did scare me off for abit but a buibui's gonna do what a buibui's gonna do. which is to enjoy food. this particular item is not mushy and has a chewy bite to it. the items are quite fresh. no overfried stuff. if they are meant to be crispy and crunchy, they will be.

bee hoon was nice too. the wu xiang was served with a red sauce topped with peanut bits. i particularly like to dip the bee hoon in the sauce to eat. machiam eating like your cold soba. weird but it works for me.

the 黄酒鸡 was definitely the real deal. we could smell the alcohol from afar while it was being brought over. perhaps due to us not having rice, it was a tad salty so we had to self add hot water to it. i guess the chicken used was kampung chicken as the texture was tougher but its more flavourful with all the absorbed juices.

the fish was simply steamed and garnished with lots of fried garlic and other shredded veg. fish was smooth and easily picked up. no disintegration of the fish meat at all. top it up with loads of the fried garlic and you get a combination that cant go wrong. easily the more preferred dish for me.

the chicken was quite soft. the gravy was savoury yet not overpowering till the point of jelak-ness. the cheese naan is another level compared to the usual naan kosong. i find the normal naan too one dimensional. so this option suits me. combine both the cheese naan and butter chicken gravy together. shiok.

the pork belly is good on its own and its also nice if you just cook it in the soup. makes you feel abit healthier. and now the beef. not disappointed at all. the beef variant is more of the fatty type. very nice beefy flavour. i guess im gonna select double portion of the beef the next time im here.

so since i was at vivo, i decided to give it a try. got a raw choco milk tea and a strawberry cheese.

the chocolate was slightly bitter so it came to be a very balanced mix with the sweet milk tea. the strawberry blended was not too sour and i could feel bits of the strawberry fruit itself. the cheese reminds me of anchor salted butter. definitely more buttery than milky/cheesy.

the plate steak came in a more medium rare state but it was good. it would be even better if the chef held back abit with the salt. it was beefy nice without any condiments.

for the mac and cheese, ive had better ones. gyudon was average. the beef was kinda minced up which i did not prefer. a pumped up version of yoshinoya i guess.
