Always a long queue at Wah Kee wanton noodles despite the aplenty of other similar stalls nearby (finally got round to queueing for it); what stood out were the plump wantons, springy noodles and it’s flavourful chilli it was tossed in!🍜
Made of Tasmanian buckwheat flour to boost it a rich fragrance, it claims it uses a “Yute-ade” cooking method to retain the soba’s bounce/texture — the lightly-battered prawn, mushrooms & peas w soft-boiled egg makes this a greater delight to tuck into!😊 This is the only restaurant I’d visit for a legit jap soba fix (it being so simple, it’s one of those dish way more worth to cook at home😅) 💕💯
Aglio Olio w sautéed mushrooms and chicken bits (tho the amount of chicken seemed to be srsly lacking); this was 1 darn good plate of pasta thanks to my colleague who recommended going down to this corner shop nearby our workplace for Friyay lunch🍝🍻
One very homely lemon slice from Motherdough which is one of their specialities — the zesty slice wasn’t too crumbly just the way I like cakes to be whilst the icing (with its unexpected hints of lemon) dripped over added a refreshing touch!!!🍋🍋
I’d settle for this version of flavoured or syrup coffee (this is the sea-salt caramel latte) over the versions at S’bux any-day! It’s not too sweet for me, plus it’s priced at a fraction of its predecessor too!
Milky puffs that feel like clouds, this was sinfully addictive and oh-so-light👌🏻
Ripe avo, spoonful of feta, lashing of citrus and sprinkle of pine nuts — this was a feel-good brunch item which filled my tummy in a very very nutritious way and ridded me of any post-lunch guilt!
No doubt the #1 go-to dim sum place for those who crave a variety of decent dim sum (esp. in the wee hours of the night) – Fav table has got to be those along the roadside kerb as it was a cheap form of alfresco dining. Whoop!
Faint taste of green tea & not much different from the original almond one leaning on the sweet not bitter end of the spectrum.
G.T lovers like myself - don’t expect matcha satisfaction from this!🍵😞
Smoked salmon, scallion cream cheese w touches of parsley, cucumber and pickled radish atop thick crusty sourdough
PV cupcakes and bakes always make me happy; esp loved this mth’s special cupcake
*Lychee strawberry* which had a lychee whipped-cream filling and strawberry lychee Swiss meringue frosting perfect for those who’d prefer a lighter, less rich cupcake. Their *lemon pound* too which ain’t too sour but just the right amounts of tartness :)
Takeaway: Lychee strawberry cupcake ($4.80), carrot cupcake ($4.30), oatmeal raisin cookie ($3.50), lemon pound slice ($5.20)!
$4 flew from my pocket, but decided to make the spend cos this Danish is packed w all the ingredients right up my alley! (Since their pastries are a tad expensive I often spend a loooong time deliberating if I shld make the pastry splurge)
