Light fluffy and packed with the aroma of the cumin and chopped coriander ...
A simple dish that teases the senses ...
If you're ever nearby Sin Ming or Bishan, do drop by this bakery which is connected to the cafe restaurant ....
One of the pastries that I love from this bakery is their Hong Kong Egg Tart (crusty version) whereby the crust is just nice and the egg curd in the pastry is so smooth and soft like silken tofu. Not overpowering in sweetness ... just perfect ... (from a certain angle ..... it looks like Creme Brulee )
If you're one who don't like your dessert or egg tart too sweet , then I would highly recommend this egg tart from So Good Bakery .. it's really So.... Good!!
When you take a bite, it will send you back to some memory lane ... for me it reminded me of Cerelac Baby food ~ it will put a smile on your face 😊
I L❤VE this Egg Tart ♡
This is my own version of the Mala Somen Noodles With Dumplings .... topped it with sweet pea beans and cucumbers ...
There's the salty and the sour version ... depends on your preferred choice of taste.
Something that I enjoy experimenting with the Mala sauce.
Glutinous rice with savoury grated coconut. Something quite similar to the Nyonya Sambal Haebi Pulut ... but with no Haebi. .
Some may find it a little sweet if they prefer something more savoury.
Texture of the pulut rice ... a little tough ... buy overall taste is pretty acceptable.
My second time to Tok Ayah, this time was a lunch date with my hubby (his 1st visit). The dishes served never ceased to amaze me. The Bergedil (potato croquettes) soft and fluffy with a layer of crispy skin.
The singkong (daun ubi/tapioca leaves) masak lemak, sambal sotong, rendang.... kacang bendi (okra) ... heavenly ...
Hubby was spoilt by the variety of dishes offers and his plate was almost overflowing till the makcik said to him that any more she's gotta use another plate.
We are looking forward to their Mee Rebus on our next visit.
One my favourite dessert!
Not too sweet, just perfect. Goes well will a cup of coffee (they serve Nespresso!)
Cod seared with Ginger infused oil. On Multigrain rice (cooked with pork broth) , fried egg and seasonal veg of asparagus, carrots and string beans.
Soft tender ribs cooked with Bitter Gourd .... not too salty just nice.
Lovely crusty batter .... served with Southern Slaw/Coleslaw.
Great place for dog lovers to chill out.
Love the coleslaw so ordered extra (as seen in the photo, the small yellow bowl)
The fries! Still so good even when it's not that piping hot ...
Requested for Eggs Benedict ... without the smoked salmon or chicken ... and was really happy with the ad-hoc request and was given extra avocado.
As you can see from the photo that it was prepared to perfection, served on toasted multigrain slices.
Upon cutting the eggs in the middle the soft yolk flowed out slowly ... that puts a smile to your face. 😄
A great way to start your day ... with this simple meal over a cuppa long black coffee ...
