Gal pals and fur-pals are all welcome here!
This was a mighty gorgeous cheese sandwich. Happy to announce that we achieved the cheese pull with this one! What sets this apart from other typical grilled cheese is the use of chutney, giving the sandwich a spicy kick to balance off all the cheese!
Was confused what they meant by fried potatoes but it turned out to be crispy hash browns, which worked brilliantly with the gooey egg.
The sandwiches here are huge so prepare to make a mess!
PS. They provide gloves so make use of that to avoid getting your hands dirty.
If only I work near Pudu, Iâll be stopping by this cute little shack every morning for a wholesome breakfast.
Fluffy charcoal toasts stuffed to the brim with sweet and spicy chicken floss, omelette, cheese and vegetables. I can have this for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Creamy scrambled eggs, fluffy charcoal toast, crispy hash browns and regular ham slice & sausages. Overall a pretty mediocre plate. Would recommend to dive straight for their sandwiches instead.
We have a winner here. Out of all the dishes Iâve tried in Hawker Chan, this was surprisingly the best.
Melt-in-your-mouth char siew and springy wan tan noodles, itâs the perfect match! Eat it with the delicious sambal, you wonât regret it.
Perhaps they shouldâve gave the star to this dish, I wouldâve been much more convinced.
Chicken aside, Hawker Chan offers other protein choices too.
Decent roasted pork. Juicy, just enough saltiness and not too heavy on the fat.
Tried the roasted pork with Thai Rice with Sauce. Yet again, it wasnât really anything fancy. Just plain, very wet, rice. I like the garlic rice much more.
Iâve heard of it, Iâve seen it on the net, and this is my first time trying it out.
This is the plate that earned Hawker Chan a Michelin star.
Accompanied by the fragrant garlic rice are thick chicken slices drenched in a flavourful sauce.
I liked the rice. I could eat it on its own with their tangy chilli sauce.
Although I canât say the same for the chicken. I find it a tad bit dry and not as juicy as I expected (with it receiving a prestigious star I truly hoped for something way better).
It wasnât terrible. Maybe slightly above average, but was it Michelin star worthy? Perhaps not. You might even find a better plate in your favourite local kopitiam.
Theyâve warned me that itâs going to be spicy, and I canât deny the fact that even as a spicy food lover, I was sweating a little. But thatâs only a small price to pay for the best dish of the night.
Yes it was spicy, but Iâd rather describe it as âso spicy it actually gets addictive at one point and I wouldnât mind downing the crab curry even if it means Iâll be having a hard time feeling my tongueâ
It goes SO well with the jasmine white rice. We already had a plate of pad Thai, but you canât miss out on rice when it comes to Thai curry!
Creamy, flavourful and filled with crab meat (not to mention spicy)!
PS. I still dream about this dish at times
Honestly not a huge fan of gizzards, but I just HAD to try this.
The texture reminds me of squid; itâs coated in a light, savoury batter and stir fried with dried chilli, hence it can be a tiny bit spicy, but not too extreme.
Itâs great as a snack/appetiser!
My first time here! Had the Pad Thai (to start) the feast and it was AMAZING. So flavourful and the noodles were cooked just right. Itâs loaded with bean sprouts, tofu cubes and prawns! So good I wanted a second plate but still gotta save some tummy space for the spicy feast.
Finally had the chance to try this! Iâm a matcha junkie, so I can never say no to anything matcha. Naturally I went straight for this best-seller.
This was everything I dreamed of! Fluffy and refreshing shaved ice flavoured with rich matcha and topped with creme brĂťlĂŠe. Yum!
Thatâs not all, I was surprised to find sweet red beans hidden within the mountain. Will definitely come back! đ
Crispy fries drenched in cheese sauce. Not the best fries, but still addictive enough for me to finish the whole portion! A perfect side dish to go along with the burgers.
