Ever since I had a taste of Shake Shack back in NYC, I couldn’t stop thinking of its pillowy buns, juicy patty and addictive sauce.
So imagine my excitement when I found SS in Jewel Changi during my visit (with a crowd, of course. But bearable).
Verdict: smaller portions, tasty burgers but not memorable. Buns werent as pillowy as US’ version (didn’t have much expectations to start with).

In search of the best bowl in town, and we ended up in Orchard Central with an empty tummy aching to be filled and high expectations.
Although I can’t say for sure that this Nantsuttej has the best ramen, but it’s surely a worthy contender (at least in Sg).
The broth was super rich, a umami bomb to be exact. Swimming in the thick soup is springy, semi-hard noodles, crunchy beansprouts (loads of em’!), and flavourful chashu slices.
Loved the broth, enjoyed slurping up the noodles and went home with a satisfied tummy.

YUMMY. I liked their rendition of the classic dessert. The usual toppings plus longan! The shaved ice was laden with fragrant gula Melaka. However the ice melted before I got to dig in, so EAT FAST.

Super nostalgic plate. Reminds me of my grandma’s cooking. Ginger-HEAVY chicken stew with perfectly fried egg.
Beware of the hidden ginger slices because bentong ginger can be very pungent! (But if you’re a ginger fan then go ahead!)
PS. Their hot meals come with a free hot beverage too.

So much eggy flavour and wobbly! Could tone down on the sweetness and could use more moistness because it was quite dry, and it can be pretty jelak.
They are still new to the scene so service can be quite messy. But if you’re really craving for modern desserts and ginger-heavy meals, this is the perfect spot for you!

Yummy! Loved this for a starter. The mashed pumpkin was creamy and sweet, spread generously on the crispy baguette slice, then topped with beef bacon bits.

FINO is a newly opened pizza parlour nestled in the busy streets of TTDI. Here you’ll find delicious thin-crusted pies on the menu with 3 sizes to choose from - 9”, 12” and 21”.
We had the 12” for two of us to share. BONUS: get the half and half option (limited to 12” and 21” pizzas only; both options must be of the same sauce)!
Really enjoyed the pie. Crust was delightfully chewy and they did not hesitate to really LOAD it with cheese (cheese pull!).
Had the Funghi Misti and Spinach, Feta & Chicken. Both were equally as yummy but I admit to favouring the chicken option more.

A basic banana leaf rice set that comes with aromatic curry that goes so well with the fluffy rice, 4 side dishes (the highlight was the yogurt cucumber for me!).
Everything was super yummy! Finished the whole portion of rice because the curry paired so well with it.
Friendly owner who kept checking in on us because we look like banana leaf rice beginners. Even offered his homemade Indian tea for us to try!
It’s a bummer they only open on weekdays (10-3pm), otherwise I’ll be making this a weekly affair.

Another yummy dish to order off the menu. I love their pizzas! Thin-crusted pie blanketed by melted cheese and loaded with spicy bacon.

A must-order whenever I’m here! Best eaten with a glass of frozen beer.
Cant stop raving about this cheesy, super calorific and sinful plate! There’s something so extraordinarily dirty about the whole experience, but oh so satisfying.
Crispy nachos covered in tangy chili con carne and gooey cheese. Optional but dip them in the bowl of creamy melted cheese (MORE CHEESE because you’re already sinning, so might as well take it to the next level).

The only thing that attracted my attention when this was being served was the glistening bun. So fluffy and buttered up! I admit I completely ignored the star of the show (sorry I blame the bread-loving monster in me).
The buttermilk fried chicken was just as delicious (as the bun lol). Though I would like the batter to be thicker because it fell apart just as I was about to cut through the meat.
The burger comes with a side of fries, which was also very well done! Thick cut *CHIPS* served hot. I liked it so much the bowl was empty before I realised it.

When the gigantic plate landed right in front of me, it reminded me of Village Park’s iconic plate for some reason (perhaps it’s the serai, or the golden fried chicken).
Nevertheless, I dug into the fluffy rice and tender chicken right away. I admit to underestimating Nasi Lemak Lah, so I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was! My favourite being the crispy and juicy fried chicken, of course. The sambal was mildly spicy and on the sweeter side.
The space was slightly compact, but otherwise the service was great. Paired with undeniably good food, Nasi Lemak Lah is off to a good start!
