Good Ground Bakery Carrot 🥕 cake - or carrot muffin it seems. Lemony soft cream cheese, cake texture is per what you expect of a carrot cake, though you can’t find carrot shreds. That tinge of lemon citrus taste in cream cheese makes it a good balance. Sea salt brownie (RM10)- love the fudge center. You can see for yourself on one of the pic . Sea salt balance out the sweetness, very soft crumbly butter base. 👍🏼fudge without heating up. Raspberry almond tart (RM10) - 4 raspberries nestled inside the frangipane (sweet almond paste) enjoyed the buttery crumbly crust. When you taste pastries made w butter, ya know pastries be good. Pecan cinnamon bun( RM 18)- chewy bun texture, not for me nothing to shout about this one it’s mediocre. cinnamon taste is there. I felt it was abit bland overall. Butter pecan cookies (RM 35?) - for a small size it’s not a lot, however the fragrant butter smell of the cookies justify the price . I guess there’s a lot of butter. Also pecans here aren’t cheap. Crusty crumbly texture, dough done right. 👍🏼 When you taste all these pastries could tell these beauties are made using a good amount of butter.

Lemon tart Most places serve you lemon tart that taste nothing like lemon, but just sweet. My bar raises since my encounter with lemon and key lime tart in Taiwan and have yet to find one that is close to it. This one is good as it brings out the tanginess and sour of lemon.

Open from 7.30am, come here for a satisfying breakfast before work – Curry Chee Cheong Fun (RM4.80), Butter Crunchy Sugar Bun (RM4.50) and a strong cup of Kopi (from RM2.90). At lunch, try the Steamed Chicken with Black Fungus (RM11.90) and Ginger Fried Chicken with Sesame Oil and Mushrooms (RM11.90), all served with a bowl of rice and vegetables. And likewise, the coffee is out of this world. ⁣ ⁣⁣ 📷 In frame: ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Chicken and Aubergine Sandwich [RM22] ⁣; White [RM10] ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ ✨: The chicken and aubergine sourdough sandwich was a perfect balance of textures and flavour. Sandwiched in between two slices of toasted sourdough was moist, tender aubergine that complimented perfectly with generously spiced chicken strips. I’m no coffee connoisseur, but I can say their flat white is one of the best I’ve had-- silky smooth, rich, and with a slight kick of acidity. Even more pertinent was the acidity in the oat milk rendition of the drink, which to my surprise, was nothing short of amazing. ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 💬: Although hefty, the price tag is a given, considering the stellar quality of food and prime location. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Visit for amazing cuppas, sourdough, and shots for the gram! ⁣

For French Pastries in Taman Desa Situated in this quiet neighbourhood of Taman Desa is this unassuming bakery doling out exquisite French pastries. Try the best-selling French Cheesecake (RM15) – ultra-light cake bursting with flavour. Slowly nibble on the Hazelnut Croissant (RM10) that's super crumbly and chock-full of nuts. New savoury baked goods have also been added to the menu, think nasi lemak croissant!

Hazelnut Croissant (RM10) Can’t resist especially when it’s a few of my favourite things in one – hazelnut, chocolate and bread. Flaky croissant and topped generously with hazelnuts. When cut into, nice layer of chocolate with more nuts. Really enjoyed this.

Soufflé Pancake With Pu Er Tea Ice Cream I wish they told us that they topped it off with Pistachio nuts in the menu just in case someone is allergic. Otherwise, the pancake was really fluffy and soft. The pu er tea gelato was strong in flavor and it wasn't too sweet while the muesli on the side was added for a crunch. It's a well balanced dish in my opinion but I just wish the vanilla syrup or the gelato can be a tad bit sweeter. 8.5/10

For a Fried Chicken Party For a cluckin' good time with your mates, swing by this pretty-in-pink cafe in TTDI for blazing hot fried chicken. Have the juicy meat in any way you like, such as Breast Tenders (RM22), Drumsticks (RM22) or Wings (RM20). Each meal comes with a side — choose from crinkle-cut fries, potato salad or coleslaw. Eggplant Balado (RM6) Got this as a side dish cause I’m greedy, and there’s also a full option with rice. Perfectly cooked eggplant – still possesses bite while still soft in the middle. It’s slicked in a chilli and onion oil that’s full of flavour. Must try!

For Fantastic Red Bean Pau This dim sum spot churns the best Red Bean Pau or Tau Sar Pau in Malaysia — this is the same pau that led this Johor-originated restaurant to its current fame! Yun Lai Huat now has 25 branches throughout Malaysia and it really all started with just a simple tau sar pau. If you close your eyes while taking a bite, it's as if you've been lifted to dim sum heaven because you will definitely hear angels sing. The layer of skin is soft as cotton and within, the red bean paste is nice and thick without being cloyingly sweet. This pau-like heaven on earth with cost you only RM2.

Lax'sa Sarawak Initially wanted to try the Risotto Lemak but they ran out of risotto so had to settle for this. Their prices are quite expensive with this being RM28 without tax. Taste-wise nothing to rave about. Could find better for less the price. Service wasn't that great either.

Risotto Lemak Had my late late around 4pm, since it's closed to dinner time, but I was starving so they recommended risotto lemak, which the portion is just right for me. Risotto to replace the usual white rice, no sam all added, but the risotto taste a bit spicy. The fried chicken is good.

For Fancy Fusion Cafe Food Cafe-hoppers, meet your other half. This lofty cafe perched atop TTDI's The Greens ticks all the right boxes of an Instagram-friendly cafe, replete with lots of natural light and beautifully plated bites. The menu sees an elegant play on fusion recipes, thanks to the chef's Brazilian roots and the owner's experience in Australia. The Ox Cheek Rendang Benedict (RM31), for instance, presents poached eggs on sweet potato rosti cups, and in between, a dollop of delectable ox cheek rendang. Nasi lemak lovers will want to look out for their impressive interpretation via the Risotto Lemak (RM29) — sambal risotto with peanut biscotti, crispy drumettes and a poached egg. Desserts aren't forgotten; there is a Tempura Ice Cream (RM28) reminiscent of local sweets with peanut crispy candy and coffee ice cream, as well as fruity Matcha Hotcakes (RM26), and more cakes. And unsurprisingly so, with health being a central focus of the eatery (the first thing I see when I enter is Organicule Superfoods products), and did I mention they are vegan 😀? But of course, my favourite dish happens to be the least healthy of the lot— the 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢, which we opted to be deep fried instead of air-fried. It’s like an upgraded version of the 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘈𝘴𝘢𝘥𝘢 burrito we had, with the same rice and mushroom filling but complemented by a light, crispy shell; topped with a heaping mountain of beans and tomatoes; and slathered with the aforementioned tangy vegan cheese sauce and mayo. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Would love to be back but I stay too far away 😞 I guess as the Chinese saying goes, 有缘再见 (till fate lets us meet again)

This vegan-friendly restaurant in Sri Hartamas doles out delicious and good-for-you Nourish Bowls (RM23) that are loaded with tasty plant-based ingredients – you won't miss meat when you try this! Build your bowl with their unique sides – from cliantro lime brown rice to bbq jackfruit, mushroom asada, guacamole and more. If you spot the General Tso Mushroom (RM18) on the menu, order it! This hearty bowl sees crunchy deep-fried hericium mushrooms coated in an addictive sweet sauce served with brown rice and broccoli.

Nourish Bowl (RM23) Build your own hearty rice bowls here with a variety of delicious vegan options. Ours was filled with addictive bbq jackfruit, spicy tempeh, grilled veggies, almonds and mangoes for added sweetness. Love that the ingredients are the main star – cilantro brown rice is hiding beneath all that goodness. Comes with a chilli option, which we opted to have on the side – thank goodness as it was spicy!

Malaysian Cuisine Fried kuih teow, nasi lemak, three layer milk tea and kopi bing. The best fried kuih teow that I’ve ever had.

Toasting to weekends 🍞☕️ Been hunting for good toasts around town and this currently sits at the top of the list! Pair it with their famed 1+1, a twist to the usual Cham with a higher ratio of tea to coffee 🤤 #burpple

For Croissants And Kopi Located along the hectic roads in Pandan Indah, Thong Kee beats out its competitors with an East-meets-West twist. The Bentong-born coffeeshop churns out homemade croissants paired with good old local coffee — a winning combo that has us wondering why no one thought of it earlier. The spot-on, flaky Kaya Butter Croissant (RM4.50) comes filled with cold blocks of butter and sweet kaya spread. There is also a Ham & Cheese Croissant (RM6.90) if you prefer something warm, lush and savoury. Western breakfast aside, the kopitiam's tenants offer also local delights. Our favourite is the Kampua Noodles (from RM6) that sees homemade egg noodles with char siew, tossed in a tart vinegar-based sauce. Plus points for a killer green chilli sauce on the side!
