Set along ๐Ÿ“Katong's main road, @beerbasketkatong has at least 5 full fridges of craft beers for you to pick on a self service basis. A great place for a catch-up with some friends!

This pizza was layered in light pieces of prosciutto and had a creamy burrata in the centre. The crust was of the slightly hard and flaky variety but nothing enough cheese can't fix.

The truffle taste wasn't that strong for this one and the mushrooms weren't the best either. I still enjoyed the pizza with the arugula, though.

The nachos here are... Not good, to put it in a nice way. They really skimped on their toppings to produce a dry and lacking dish.

NGL, this may be lowbrow but it was done well. It wasn't just golden bits of well-seasoned chicken -- it was served above a bed of herby jalapeno mayo which gave it an added dimension.

A good charred charsiew and crispy shao rou is perfect comfort food for me and I'm always on the lookout for convenient and affordable recommendations.

I accidentally chanced upon this while staying nearby. This outlet at Havelock Road is part of a chain that largely flies under the radar but its quality is known to the people living nearby -- the queue stretches quite a bit during lunchtime!

The charsiew here is gloriously fatty and charred, while the shao rou somehow managed to remain thick and crispy even after being drenched in sauce. The most shocking thing was their rich and opaque soup, which trumps anything I've ever had from a cssr or wanton mee store before. Don't miss out on it!

Quality wise, the chicken was quite juicy and the skin was slightly crispy. The soup was also ok only.

Despite that I'd only come here with the 1 for 1 deal because it's quite expensive for coffeeshop food.

If you love your pasta al dente, you'll love the ones here -- the rigatoni was firm and chewy, which balanced out the bitter aged pork cheek and rich pecorino.

Do note that the choices are very limited here. Luckily the atmosphere is very enjoyable though!

To be honest, even when I had this in Austria, I can't tell if meat in schnitzel is veal escalope or chicken/pork because it's always smashed flat. Anyways, this schnitzel was crispy and reasonably tender with interesting sides. It's quite a big portion too but at $38 it'd better be!

The most important part of a Margherita pizza is the use of fresh ingredients. This flavour was not bad but they could've been more heavy handed with the basil and tomatoes, huh!

I can't say I'm an advocate of topping my pizza with Brussel sprouts -- especially such thick pieces, at that. But I appreciated the chunks of ground pork meatballs with the chewy cheese.

I love a chewy penne and the Al dente pasta in this one definitely stood out to me. I also loved the creamy authentic carbonara sauce that lightly coated each piece of pasta and bacon. It's classics like these that I'm always drooling about the next day.
