Had dinner at Market Bistro earlier this week and I really liked the cosy interior of the restaurant.

The Baby Squid Fritters was a perfect starter to dinner that paired well with the zesty pickled mayo dip. I also enjoyed the New York Cheesecake at the end of the meal. The passionfruit coulis was tart and cuts through the sweetness of the cake.

Visited Elixir Coffee and Wine earlier this month for dinner and tried Deep Fried Burrata, Wagyu Bolognese and Bismark Blanc Pizza. My favourite was definitely the pizza, the soft and fluffy sourdough covered with the white sauce was a great pairing. We finished our meal with their Damn Good Tiramisu, which was pleasant surprise for me as the ladyfinger pastries were flavourful yet not too soggy. Definitely worth a visit!

I had spicy prawn noodles with Tobiko prawn balls and added on some lala, I must say that their broth was very flavourful and service was fast as well. Do try their ngoh hiang and sotong youtiao which go very well with their chilli sauce! I would recommend coming early as their queue can get quite long.

Had a lovely dinner with great steaks. Really enjoyed the Denver steak paired with a side of juicy smoked mushrooms topped with fried shallots for added crunchiness. Dessert was their seasonal eton mess which had tasty taro bits and meringue drops. Good food and good service!

I am used to only eating typical Nyonya dumplings so I was quite excited to try different types of dumplings here. Safe to say, I was pleasantly surprised by Joo Chiat Kim Choo’s choices. I tried the Pulut Hitam Nyonya Rice Dumpling, Emperor’s Rice Dumpling and the Hokkien Rice Dumpling with Salted Egg Yolk. I absolutely love how every dumpling is flavourful and packed with generous amounts of quality ingredients. 👌

Here are some of my thoughts on each dumpling!

Pulut Hitam Nyonya Rice Dumpling: Looks very interesting to me and I enjoyed how the dumpling tasted sweet on the outside whilst holding a good balance of flavours inside. 👍

Emperor’s Rice Dumpling: My favourite out of the three! The ingredients in this were so generous and decadent – I was surprised to find scallops 🤯🤤 I can see why this dumpling was given its name. This dumpling is great for those who enjoy fattier meats and savoury flavours, as you’d be sure to enjoy the tender slices of pork belly.

Hokkien Rice Dumpling with Salted Egg Yolk: The taste of this dumpling was a bit more savoury as compared to the rest and was quite new to me! This dumplings had leaner cuts of meat, which I think is great for those who are more health conscious. 💪

I tried the Truffle Gyudon along with the Mentaiko fries a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised at the generous amount of sauce given for the fries. The food here is reasonably priced and the location is great for dinner and drinks after work!

Had a great time at Fat Belly tonight! Burrata is one of my favourite cheeses and this restaurant paired it well with their Toasted Sourdough. We loved how the Charred Broccolini was not overcooked, and had a good sharing size. We were served two different cuts of the Black Opal Wagyu, both were tender and had the right amount of fat. We then ended the meal with a Basque Burnt Cheesecake—it was the perfect finish with a passionfruit drizzle to cut through the richness of the cake.

The service was great too, would love to come back again!

We visited Kucina Italian Restaurant on 16 November and tried the Tartufo Gnocchi and Pizzoto. I was especially looking forward to trying the former as it was my first time having gnocchi and safe to say, I was pleasantly surprised! The mushroom cream sauce was rich and the black truffle pate was fragrant. The egg on the pizza was a great addition too, making it less dry. We then completed our meal with the cannoli which wasn't too sweet for my liking!

We had signature pork ribs, flat iron steak and cream of chicken soup at Meat n’ Chill. I really liked how the meat on the pork ribs were tender and came off the bone so easily! The soup wasn’t too thick and had other ingredients such as mushrooms! The restaurant is tucked on a quiet street has a cosy ambience, would recommend if you enjoy spending alone time or would like a quiet place with your partner!

We went on 27th July in the evening and ordered the quote a few dishes. The highlights were definitely the charcoal skewers, especially the black pork collar and tochigi wagyu beef. The salmon sashimi was fresh and they provided thick slices. The waiting time for food is very short and service was great! The food may be on the pricier side but overall, the experience is an enjoyable one.
