Cakes go for around $9~ and drinks at $5~. Chilled place - chocolate dessert was really good & so was the iced latte. Matcha cake was more of a miss though. Nice servers :)

Prawn Olio Olio ($18)
Carbonara, But not really ($16)

Crowded on a Friday evening. Prawn Olio Olio was quite unique with sichuan garlic oil and lap Cheong crumble. It was pleasantly flavourful and everything goes well with the texture of the curly pasta. Carbonara like itā€™s name suggests, really differ slightly from the usual ones. The sauce was lighter with the fragrance of mushrooms making the dish very smooth and not too sickening till the end. Overall think itā€™s fusion done right, portion looks small but surprisingly it was quite filling. Itā€™s worth trying as Beyond makes it really a good deal. But not sure whether will return as choices were limited.

Yet another participating restaurant of Burpple Beyond that specialised in pizzas, DePizza was situated just between a burger joint and a boutique gym, so they sort of made sure that you climb a flight of stairs and dine with some background thumping noise during your meal. But it was quite exciting to come in because they had a few special pizzas that were kind of special.

The GLY Pizza (front, S$23.00), was a creation incorporating ā€œZi Charā€ favourite Sweet & Sour Pork, so they had a sweet sour sauce base with countable chunks of pork, pineapples, capsicum and onion. Unfortunately, the letdown was actually that the miserably little pieces of meat were also dry and tough, so at some point I did wish the meat were not there at all.

On the other hand, the Sashimi Pizza (S$27.00) was slightly more promising, though there was also a not very friendly smell coming from the salmon, which disappeared quickly after consuming it with their mayonnaise base and seaweed flakes. Plus, the thin crispy crust made it feel like I was eating a gigantic salmon tapas, which made me wonder if decorating the pizza with some Mentaiko sauce could bring out more of the Japanese essence to the Italian fare.

But one note of caution to Burpple Beyond users: the staff still charged me for the service charge for the ā€œlower priceā€ pizza, unlike most of the other restaurants which would waive off the service charge and GST for the second item, just in case if you would be calculative on that.

1 for 1 on Burpple Beyond!

Great to fill me up post-exercise. The size of this bowl is pretty much substantial as a meal replacement. It's loaded with lotsa fruits &nuts (think walnuts, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, banana, strawberries kiwis etc) Most importantly, it is much less sweet as compared to Project Acai. But ofcos, it gives less of a sugar rush too. I'm guessing that they don't add apple juice to the acai blend and hence the reduction in sweetness.

I prefer prawn tacos but if you're looking for a pretend-healthy brunch, I guess this is it. Pretty messy eating so avoid if on a first date. And don't forget to use the entertainer app for 1-for-1, I wouldn't pay sgd23 for this....

That moment when I found me and my colleagues some great coffee right beside our office at a steal (!!!)with burpplebeyond....... one week before we shift to our new office at PYL. šŸ˜ I especially liked the unsweetened white cold brew that was an amazing afternoon companion at work.

You can choose from 3 levels of spice for your chicken ā€” mild, extra and insane.

Honestly, soup was robust & tasty, but the choice of the ingredients were poor. This was the smallest portion of the seafood soup @ $6. For all the seafood soups, the fish chosen was frozen dory fish, doesnā€™t fit the soup well. Prawn was fresh and the other ingredients were ok. Ordered a seafood soup but oddly the ingredient that was the biggest part of the soup was the minced meat..... Waited at least 30 minutes for this during the lunchtime crowd & honestly it was a waste of my time. I also requested for the owner to give me extra soup, which he replied positively too. To my dismay, the soup was at HALF of the container. And the container is really small, not the usual kind, more comparable to a slightly bigger tauhuey container. Donā€™t think itā€™s worth the $6 starting price.

Might only patronise again if they change their choice of fish & if thereā€™s no queue. If thereā€™s a long queue in front of you, my advice would be donā€™t bother.

$15; super cheap considering the amount of items we got! Pork intestines, chicken, crazy amounts of mushrooms & veggies. They do have quite a big selection of ingredients. The mala bowl at medium spice is more spicy č¾£ than éŗ», could possibly be more éŗ» imo. Nonetheless itā€™s a really good & affordable bowl of mala. Loved it! They also offer a soup version, might try it another time. But I would definitely patronise the shop, decent fragrance with cheap prices and generous portions.
