This is da bomb! Ordering this dish not expecting much but I was so impressed by the quality of its mentaiko sauce, the mayo is not too overpowering and the taste of the mentaiko is rich and fragrant! So worth the $5.90 😋
Ice cream will never be the same again! I'm so impressed by the fragrant toast that complemented the Ferrero Rocher ice cream and Nutella drizzle so well! On a side note, the Thai earl grey ice cream is really rich too, go try it!
May seem to be a very ordinary bowl of pork broth ramen. But what I like about Ikkousha Hakata's rendition is that the broth isn't too jelat! And you can customize the taste of the broth and texture of the noodles to your own preference. They have to work on their aji-tama though, it tastes as if it is marinated with lots of salt and salt only! The yolk is runny though.
I have no idea what took me so Long to try this highly-raved chirashi don! Considering its price tag of $26.90, it's serving it's pretty generous - just look at those thick cuts and dollops of juicy ikura. Even the ordinary looking tamago tastes fab! For those who aren't a fan of sashimi like maguro, swordfish and hotate, they can give the salmon don a try, it is super value for money too!
Salmon, swordfish, tuna, hotate and ikura! Probably one of the cheapest bara-chirashi dons in town and I have to agree that it is super value for money at only S$17.90 nett! Don't be fooled by the small bowl, it is really very filling. It will be better if the sashimi were a tad fresher. But, still oishi!
This is a childhood favourite that certainly evokes a sense of nostalgia. As a child, I would frequent Scissors Cut Curry Rice with my parents, especially for supper, since it's just a stone's throw away from where I live. Not only is it my mum's favourite, my entire family loves it too, even till today. I was just told that my dad used to bring my mum here on dates, just because she once told him that she loved it — how unromantic! I remember how I found the gooey mess totally unappealing at first, but as time went by, I grew to love it! It may be a shame that I can no longer patronize the stall with my parents, but dining there with my boy today brings new meaning for me. Now, I get to recall and share my fond childhood memories with him over a plate of curry rice. #hawkerpedia
Mediocre eggs on waffles / Hollandaise sauce was a whole disapppointment. It wasn't just bland, it was tasteless :( The waiting time was atrocious, TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE 1HOUR WAIT AT ALL.
My favourite spot for my Teochew Mui fix! It is still as good over the years, but the price just keeps going up. Dinner for 4 at $43.50. Not that affordable after all!
Worse decision ever for supper last night! Only the chocolate truffle and speculoos ice-cream are not bad, not impressive either. The cheesecake was too funky for our liking and the salted caramel tastes like the entire bottle of salt wtf. The crepe and waffles were really meh too and all these costed $21 what nonsense. Should totally have went to Udders which was just next door :( they serve MUCH better ice-cream and waffles and are less ex!
When I came across this place on burrple and food blogs, I couldn't believe that their tendons are priced at $13.90. And I visited them last night, I was so amazed by its portion. 2 tempura ebi, 2 pieces of tempura chicken, tempura veggies - pumpkin, lady's finger, corn and shiitake mushroom and a tempura onsen tama under all that tempura mess! People say that it is the best in town, and I totally concur that. The ingredients are so fresh and the batter is light and crispy. You know how thick batter are so jelat after it is left for awhile, but nah that's not the case for Ginza's tendon! And their tendon sets come with a mini chawanmushi and miso soup. Their chawanmushi is definitely THE BEST I've ever tasted. It is so smooth and so rich, so good I can't even. This is definitely worth the queue and every cent you pay. Oishi, I can't wait for my next visit already!
Perfect portrayal of "good and cheap"! It is unbelievable that this is my first visit, but sadly it is. And I'm amazed at their ice-cream and waffles are quite economically-priced! My order of their chewy waffle and two scoops of ice-cream was below 10 bucks. Waffles are pretty decent but the cha-yen ice-cream can be a little more fragrant!
This ramen spot is definitely underrated! (I secretly hope it stays this way so there won't be any crowd!) Major love for their ramen, noodles were springy to perfection and their broth isn't too salty like other ramen restaurants and that deserves a big thumbs up! Their ajitama needs to be more flavorful and runny though. Their stone bowl rice is quite worth a try too!
