After looking through so many pictures of oozing baguette balls, I knew I wanted to try one for myself. I enjoyed the original custard one the best, and my second fav was the red velvet. Didn't really like the chocolate and matcha red bean as they had a bit of an artificial taste.
A warning, these baguette balls are full of exploding oozing cream so get your tissues ready! Or, thread carefully by biting a small hole and sucking out the cream slowly.
Another warning is that these baguettes taste much better hot than cold. When hot, they are fluffy and crunchy. But when they cool down, the bread starts to harden and it becomes hard to bite. This makes it even messier to consume. You have been warned.

Do not leave the restaurant without dabbling in theΒ {Caramel Ginger Beancurd}Β ($3.90). Superbly silky, this elegant dessert breaks out in song when drizzled with ginger infused caramel syrup

This no-frills restaurant next to Merely Ice Cream serves pocket-friendly Thai food, making it a hit amongst the students in the vicinity. Come with friends and order the Basil Pork Rice ($6), topped with a sunny side up egg, and a Tom Yum Goong ($10) to share. If it's available, have the Mango Sticky Rice ($5) before washing it all down with a cup of Thai Milk Tea ($1.50).
The rice is drenched with ladles of curries, braised black sauce and gravy from the boiled cabbage which is definitely good enough to eat on its own. Enjoyed the fried pork the most that is so crispy yet not oily, together with cabbage and a fried egg with a few drops of dark soy sauce. This plate of curry rice is practically overflowing and is one of the cheapest way for you to fill your tummy.
Thought we were early when we came here, but the char siew was already sold out by the time it was our turn (whatever happens, resist the temptation of ordering the not-so-impressive sio bak; we all know the effects of waiting too long in line all too well).
A bummer to have missed the other highlight here, but we were still rewarded with lip-smacking soy sauce poached chicken and moreish dumplings with the super QQ noodles! β€οΈ Absolutely worth the wait and not sleeping in on a weekend (and that says A LOT).
Yesterday's lunch was the personalised Bibimbap from Joo Bar because I had been thinking of eating it again for goodness knows how long! On this visit, I created mine with purple rice adorned with tender chunks of spicy chicken, minced kimchi, Korean beansprouts, sweet corn and a soy dressing which was served on the side. Still can't believe this huge portion (which comes in a massive heavy iron bowl that keeps the food warm for longer) only cost me $10.90++! ππ
Crispy-outside-soft-inside airy fluffy waffle just like how I love my waffle to be done. And yes to anti-mainstream option ie. greek yoghurt π
Ah Bong's Italian is a gem for those who constantly crave affordable yet delicious pasta (I'm one of 'em!)
Known for their fiery, extra spicy homemade chili, this is the perfect supper for spice lovers and it's great that the stall stays open till 3am daily. A plate of Spicy Hokkien Mee ($4 for small, $6 for medium) boasts a good ratio of noodles to bee hoon, and comes well-soaked in an umami broth, packing in lots of flavour. Good thing about this coffeeshop is that it also houses the popular Punggol Nasi Lemak β perfect for a group of friends who can't decide where to head to for supper. Pro tip: Mix in a third of the chili first before deciding how much more heat you can handle!

Located along North Bridge Road, The Ramen Stall is a Halal-certified shop serving affordably priced Japanese dishes till 6am. Swing by after a late movie with friends or after a long night at work with your colleagues and order a piping hot bowl of Volcano Ramen ($11). The chicken-based broth is robust in flavour and is sure to satisfy with slices of chicken chashu and bamboo shoots. Choose from three levels of spiciness β you might want to stick to Level 2 unless you really love a kick! If you're in the mood for something lighter, have the Kaisen Don ($16.90). The rice comes topped with freshly sliced salmon and tuna cubes.
Avg price: $15 per person

Housing not just one, but two stellar supper options, KPT at Bishan should be high on your supper list. The well-loved kway chap stall opens till 4am, promising lovingly-braised intestines, tender pork belly and comforting tau pok alongside silky smooth kway. Alternatively, don't hesitate to join the queue for Ding Ji's excellent fish maw soup and bak chor mee for $8. The soup is robust and satisfying from simmering overnight, and is made luxurious with good quality fish maw. The noodles may not be vinegar-y enough for those who love the pungent kick, so ask for more if you do! Ding Ji is open 24 hours, so come at any time of night!
