Claypot Chicken Rice This had all the right ingredients — chicken, Chinese sausage, dark soy sauce, and a bit of salted fish — but it just didn’t hit the claypot sweet spot. Missing that smoky aroma and those crispy, charred rice bits, it felt more like a regular bowl than the slow-cooked, deeply satisfying dish I was hoping for. Best Satay in JB? Can't tell the difference between two sticks of satay, but I'd say this one is pretty darn solid.

🇲🇾 Matcha lava cake with matcha ice cream and fresh cream on the side We were told that the cafe owner was planning to launch lava cakes and they gave us a couple to try after serving our orders. It was a pleasant surprise! The matcha ice cream was good with bitter notes at the end. The matcha lava tasted reasonably sweet with again some subtle bitterness however it wasn't warm enough as the chocolate lava cake which everyone voted as their favourite. I do hope that La Gourmet will launch these warm lava oozing desserts soon!

🇲🇾 Iced jelly with mango and pudding Loved this refreshing cold dessert and loved it even more that I could enjoy it at 1am on Sunday! Talk about late night sweet dessert options. La Gourmet is also famous for selling giant sized desserts that can feed up to 10 pax at 48RM. It's a great chill out place for friends and family. Air conditioned environment with free wifi.

Penang Char Kway Teow & Watermelon Juice It's not cheap by Malaysia's standards, but it's quite satisfying lah, especially the duck eggs.

Siang Kee Seafood It may only be SGD13 per head for a spread of butter crayfish, BBQ stingray, sambal lala, prawn paste chicken and other typical zichar items featured here, but I wouldn't bother coming all the way here again just to have an unsatisfying, low-quality zichar meal. Thank god for the great company that made up for it! Siang Kee Seafood Restaurant is located in Taman Sri Tebrau Hawker Centre (大马花园小贩中心) – a popular late-night spot where Singaporeans patronise frequently.

Over all damage abalone soup RM 17, lok lok RM 32, Ai you bing RM 4. Do remember divide by 3😁 . over all 7.5/10

Abalone Noodle (17RM) The soup was flavorful (albeit a little too salty) with a generous helping of fishball, meatball, prawn and abalone. However the noodle was quite a disappointment. Didn't like the texture of the noodle.

Chirashi Butsu Don (~RM30) So much goodness!!!! In a bowl!!! One gripe I had was that the sauce had some citrus-y flavor I wasn’t the biggest fan of but it made everything smell and taste super fresh ! But nonetheless the sashimi were all real good and legit fresh
