So unbelievably delicious for a dessert that's actually healthy and good for you!
Not too bad in taste and portion considering it's only $14.9+ with a daily soup and glass of iced tea. The black pepper sauce was quite fiery on its own, and the green tomato salsa quite saltish, but when mixed together the flavors was just right to pair with the steak.
Looking better than it tastes, the spaghetti was undercooked and flavors were quite bland. Ironically, the complimentary amuse bouche (cheesy risotto ball) and bread rolls fared much better in our opinions. Dining here is proof again that more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better. Based on the mains we had, I'd say the prices here aren't justified, though the ambience was quiet and romantic; great for a date night.

Doesn't make you go "wow" at first bite, though the flavors do start to grow on you after a while.
My least favourite amongst the rest I tried here. The taste of yam was so indistinct I wouldn't have known it was yam in there, and where's the scallops/prawns as promised??
The pork filling is pan fried beforehand and slightly fattier than usual, resulting in extra fragrance and a nice bouncy bite!
Ever since I had a 'crispy' cheong fun in Hong Kong 2 years back I've been hunting for something similar in SG n I've finally found one at XinYue! The thin crispy threads of fried flour embedded within not only add contrasting texture, but are also perfect for soaking up the soya sauce!
If only they could substitute these dry, flat-tasting pork slices colored with red dye with some proper roasted char siew!
Instead of the usual cookie, coffee here is served with a cube of brownie which I thought was even better than some of the ones you actually pay for elsewhere. Shows the effort they put even into the small details :)
Apart from the white chocolate cream that tasted too milky for me, what laid underneath was surprisingly pleasant: a strong matcha flavored filling with just the right amount of sweetness, and a perfectly matched layer of fine azuki bean paste.
Can't help comparing this to G Patiserrie's G Spot, and Two Baker's version gets my vote for its less-sweet praline layer and the extra ring of crunchy nuts decorating its base. Quite pricey, but I'd say this cake is worthy of its $9.80 tag.
