Went to this newly beach club and restaurant on the weekend after it opened, can't go wrong with its jamon iberico, while the tomato bread was not as good as i had in another restaurant where some of the staff worked before. The tomato used seemed to be unriped local tomatoes, but the bread is delicious and crispy. Had also fried calamari and feta cheese which was brilliant (not in the picture), however the portion is a bit too small, but hey, it's tapas anyway 😉
Will definitely come back again to try other tapas, slightly later after letting it develop further. Should be good for a weekend chill by the beach as soon as they have the sun beds.

Craved for this dish over the last weekend, and being so overly dissapointed with a pasta dish i had yesterday at Caffe B, today i decided to cook it myself. I felt like having bigger clams than the local lala which tend to be smaller.. So i bought the New Zealand's Cloudy Bay clams. The juice of the clams really boosts the seafood umaminess of the dish, i added fresh chili padi for some kicks, and one small secret (not anymore now!🙈), a small bit of butter at the end of cooking as advised by a friend. Oh my.. oh my... Absolutely delicious! 😋🍝🐚😋

I am not usually a big fan of chicken rice however, i quite enjoyed this one. This was my second visit, this time with visiting nephews from Jakarta. The kampong chicken were soft and juicy, especially we asked for the thighs and drumstick, when dipped on the ginger chilli and dark soy sauce, it resulted in good combination of flavours all together, I particularly liked adding the sprigs of coriander leafs into my bites which gave it a bit of herby kick. The set comes with half boiled egg and a small bowl of flavourful chicken broth. One nephew truly enjoyed everything as his palate is quite adventurous as mine while the other nephew who doesn't really like chicken rice thought that he enjoyed the rice the most. The chicken skin were a bit yellowish, i wonder if it is because it is the natural kampong chicken skin colour or they put some kind of colouring as well? These days you'll never know right? We also ordered sambal sweet potato leaves, one of my favourite veggies with crunchy texture. Always a nice place to bring visitor guests from overseas for a hainanese chicken rice!

Made it to the soya sauce chicken noodle at Chinatown yesterday on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch, the one recently awarded with 1 michelin star, queued for 1 hour 35 minutes 😅 was very impressed with the quality of the food, $2.50 (‼️) only for a plate of noodle with generous amount of very tender and super juicy soya sauce chicken. The noodle has a balance and intense flavour with its special blend sauce and the chili. We had an extra drumstick which only cost $2, which was very delicious! I will come back again for the dumpling and other roast meats as they ran out of those halfway the queue 🙁 i would recommend to avoid going there on weekends and meal hours.

Tender melt in your mouth sinful pork belly with super umami broth, onsen egg, carrot and water crest, the meal comes with oasa seaweed soup, fried meat miso, pickled radish and peanut bean curd. Upgraded the rice to okinawan rice cooked with pork carrot and mixed seaweed. Also ordered small portion of bitter gourd with pork tofu and egg. Very satisfying meal. Half way through my lunch.. Chef Tatsuya of Waku Ghin came and seated at the bar counter as well! Had a short chat with him. You know the food is real good if a celebrity chef is a regular there!

Very enjoyable! Bone melts in harmony with the meat. Couple it with some soy sauce. Brings the best out of this mouthful. Caution: Can be a little filling as everything melts in your mouth like a molten rush! One of the signature dishes here.

Happy to hear that they opened one outlet near my office, so rushed there right away at lunch time. Tremendously enjoyed the Foie Gras Truffle Yakiniku, super yummy! 😍😋😋 Pan seared foie gras drenched in amazing black garlic brown butter, tender-melt-in-your-mouth US black angus short ribs drizzled with truffle soy and onsen egg in the middle. The truffle soy sauce is a bit too mild for me, perhaps not many people like strong tastes (in many things) as i do. But apart from that, it's an excellent mix of flavours and tastes all together. It is $19 for lunch (u.p. $23) and i took the lunch set additional $2 for miso soup, mixed green salad and green tea. Highly recommended! Any recommendations for similar donburi are most welcome.

Panfried honey caramelized banana, salted dark chocolate, peanuts with chocolate ice cream. Unique crispy side eggy pancakes pancakes originally from Germany but made famous in USA.

Combo bento of Wagyu Rump Cap, marbling score 4/5 and 10 hours slow cooked Iberico Pork Cheeks. With onsen egg hidden underneath the rice and meat. The wagyu rump cap is still juicy and the pork cheek is sinfully good, a bit too fatty for me though. It's $15, quite a steal!

House special sesame-battered cheesy beef meatballs served with furiyake mayonaise. Crispy meatballs, with goey cheese feeling, nicely balanced with daikon pickle at the bottom.

Tried this new Texan style BBq smoke house, a casual joint behind Boomerang in Robertson Quay. The beef brisket is my favourite, so tender and smokey, pork ribs and pulled pork are also good, the platter comes with coleslaw and white bread.
