Milk pudding was super smooth. I usually take the cold one, else it tends to be slightly over sweet and milky tasting.
Salted yolk custard buns (HK$62), steamed ma-lai cakes (HK$48) & har gow (HK$68). The salted yolk custard buns were not the lava type but there were chunks of salted yolk within which made the filling not too sweet and jelat. Har gow were succulent and made with fresh and bouncy shrimps. The ma-lai cakes were so-so though. Instagram worthy and nice dim sum; definitely worth a visit!
Huge slab of salmon accompanied with shimeji mushrooms and teriyaki sauce. Healthy and yummy at the same time :)
The desserts were less impressive. Creme brûlée was too eggy. The tiramisu didn't have the rich espresso flavor I was looking for. Panna cotta's milkiness overpowered the lemongrass flavor.
Handmade pasta that was springy and not overly thick.
Other dishes which are not featured include Lamp chop with sweet onions and Seared chicken thigh on mashed sweet potato.
Flavorful and fork tender beef cheek.
Hub gave me a birthday treat at this Italian omakase-style restaurant at $90++ per pax. They have no menu and the chef will prepare a multiple course dinner with the ingredients he has that day but of couse, they will check if there's any food you don't eat. My favorite is this 4-course cold appetisers of Scallop with basil crust, Smoked swordfish on mascarpone pumpkin purée with olives, Seared beef on wild mushrooms and Crab salad on purple slaw. The scallop was fresh and tender; the basil crust was just sublime.
Today is T2 staff canteen's last day of operation. I'll dearly miss the ever so comforting and reasonably priced Western food from Wild Olives. Their Grilled Catfish Fillet is $5.90 and Grilled Chicken $5.40. It's hard to find good food at this price in SG. The owners are still looking for a new stall. Till we meet again.
My all-time favorite pasta from Ha'Pizza. Love the chives and pine nuts. Simple, fresh, and just need a pinch of salt to elevate the flavor.
Tomato based pizza with olives, parmesan and a plantation of arugula.
