New foodcourt in orchard gateway featuring Malaysian hawker food!
This was a really well executed plate of Nasi lemak. The beef rendang was cut into bites size pieces which is slightly different from the chunky pieces of meat we usually get over here. The portion served was generous and every element tasted good!
They named this as OMG on the menu. It’s actually grilled pork galbi with multigrain rice, onsen egg, kimchi and seaweed.
The pork is pretty well done but I don’t fancy the gooey rice and the egg tasted pretty bland. Still a pretty decent choice for the price when one feels like Korean food during lunch in CBD.
Sautéed egg white with conpoy and fish meat. Very good dish to have if you’re on a protein diet! Breaking the egg yolk and eating it with the rest of the dish added a more silky texture. Overall a good dish.
Ordered some other dim sum items and found them rather pedestrian. Has CJ standard dropped? I remembered they used to do pretty good dim sum…
Unbeatable view of the Marina Bay. Not the best bowl of Barachirashi and quite pricey for lunch. I can imagine it being a great spot to hit with your partner during sunset though!
You can’t really go wrong with this if you love your raw scallops, tuna and ikura! Beautifully presented in a stack with an aburi egg yolk on top.
Possibly the best Lu rou fan (卤肉饭) in Singapore! Melty pork belly in a very savoury sauce which just kept me digging for more.
The fried chicken (盐酥鸡) stayed perfectly fried even after a 30min journey home!
I have yet to try the other best seller vermicelli. Will have to go back soon!
This is by far the best steak frites I’ve tried in SG. Steak is super tender and flavourful. Love it that they get the doneness right with such a thick fillet.
All steaks at Les Bouchons comes with free flow fries and a bowl of side salad. I’m on a diet and topped up a few dollars to change the fries to ratatouille instead.
This outlet at Rochester is far bigger than the others. We managed to get a table without reservations.
Set lunch $15++ Barachirashi Don
It’s set lunch but doesn’t really come with any extra food items. It’s cheaper than their regular Bara Chirashi though. Topped up $4 for a chawanmushi.
Taste fresh and rice is nicely cooked.
Thought it used to taste better. Still a decent plate of CKT.
Quintessential breakfast for many Singaporeans. We decided to opt for their otah toast to try. I like the thicker toast that they pair it with so that it blend nicely with the spicy fish paste.
This stall (Lee Soon Lee) is manned by a friendly couple. Mee siam has the right level of sourness and I feel like eating more after finishing the entire bowl.
Their standard nasi lemak comes with omelette, ikan bilis, luncheon meat, chicken wing and I added otak to complete the experience. The lemak rice paired nicely with the chilli making it a very satisfying plate of Nasi lemak.
There’s some dishes on display where you can add on to your dishes. I saw spring rolls, ngoh hiang, stir fry long bean etc.
The tendon comes with eel, three prawns, fish, pumpkin, green bean, eggplant, mushroom, squid and egg.
As I went during lunch, so there’s a complementary small cold dish of vegetable and a miso soup. Ingredients are fresh and the batter is light and crisp. This has emerged as my favourite bowl of tendon in Singapore!
