Had a very good Omakase here. Unfortunately Burpple does not allow more than one photograph I’m unable to show all items. All items are fresh and well cooked. Like the wagyu beef dish that was very tender, tasty and the amount of food overall is worth the price.
This newly opened Izakaya eatery is a branch out from the across Pahang Street the Fukusen Japanese Restuarant. This Izakaya eatery serves very tasty charcoal grilled items at reasonable prices. This item (braised chicken feet slightly grilled) is to me an outstanding item. Each feet is soft and tender and well marinated with good sauces that go into the meat. The interesting thing is the chef grilled it slightly before serving giving it a charred aroma. Really yummy. We had two servings because we really love it. The restaurant also provides good dipping sauces for the yakitori dishes.
I’ve posted about this stall before but feel that it deserves another post so to refresh those who’ve been and those who haven’t seen the previous post. Situated inside Kim San Leng Coffee Shop at Blk 116 Bukit Merah View S151116 this stall is manned by an elderly couple who cook and a helper who takes the order. For $3 you get a bowl of noodle with fish cake slices, 2 fishballs, fresh pork slices and minced meat. The well cooked noodle is added with sauces, black vinegar and pork lard bits. The aroma of the black vinegar coupled with the pork lard bits really wake up your appetite. Seriously for $3 it’s more than a value for money excellent meal.
Very tasty pork soup with lots of porky ingredients to mix and match. Ingredients are fresh and well cooked. A bit pricey but worth every cents. The stall is at Chinatown complex market and food centre #02-137. Opens 1030 am till 830 pm. Closes on Tuesdays.
An old school styled beef noodle with fresh ingredients and yummy soup.
This restaurant is an offshoot of Fukusen Japanese Cuisine @ Hotel Clover along Jalan Sultan. Situated just across Pahang Street, diners can be seated in either restaurant and get the best of both. This lamb rack is done just right - not overly nor under cooked. The slightly burnt rosemary herb added to the aroma very well. Will go back to try more of the izakaya items on next visit.
Definitely worth it if you like mushroom minced meat noodle. Noodle is well cooked not over nor under. So you get the bite of the noodle. The mushroom minced meat sauce is full of flavour with the black vinegar smell coming up to your nostrils as you eat. For $4 it’s a great breakfast. However this stall has two operators. Breakfast and lunch are done by this lady but in the afternoons the noodles are cooked by a male chef not very good in controlling the noodles.
There’re a few wanton mee stalls inside Bendemeer Market and Food and this stall stands out for its quality char siew, plumb wanton and tasty noodle. That’s why the queue is always there. I had a $4 bowl and added 50 cents worth of char siew and it’s good!!!
Very good value for money breakfast. For $3.50 you’ll get 4 plumb and tasty wantons, char siew and lots of mee. The noodles are the qq type and sauces are well mixed with it. Yummy!
This stall is manned by an elderly man who’s still healthy and skilled in his cooking. Love everything about it. There’s fresh pork slices, minced meat, meat dumplings and meat ball. And for $5 he throws in 2 prawns too. Really value for money. Be warned - queue starts as early as 7 am.
This BCM stall inside Yi He Eating House at Veerasamy Road not only sells good bcm. There’s also good pork liver that’s cooked just right - not too cooked or under cooked. The rest of the ingredients are just as yummy and the noodle is mixed well.
The test of a good old char kway teow is the wok hei - smell from the hot fiery wok. This is this stall trademark. The rest like ingredients etc are just as good. Love the cockles which the chef is always generous with. Deliciously yummy!!!
