Handmade fishballs that really bouncy and tasty. Noodles cooked just right not too too cooked nor under cooked. Soup is really tasty with lots of minced meat as base. Yummelicious.

This stall needs no introduction except this is not the original one which is in Holland Drive. Nevertheless the quality of this is just as good if not better the the original. Noodles are cooked and mixed well till it’s crunchy and yummy. The sambal chilli sauce (a signature of this stall) is super yummy. Fishballs and fish cakes are great. But meat ball is just ok. Nonetheless overall it’s a very satisfying breakfast. Yummy yum yum!

For $4 this is not just value for money but also yummy! Mee pok was well cooked to QQ standard. Fishballs are definitely handmade from the shape can see that it’s squeezed with hand to form the shape. Just a bite and can tell it’s almost all fish meat. Yummy x 2

Stall within the Tiong Bahru Yong Tau Foo shop that sells good bak chor mee. At $5 there are lots of ingredients such as pork slices, minced meat, fish cake slices, fish ball and a medium sized fish dumpling which is very authentic. Noodles was well cooked - al dente to the bite. Worth every cent. Yummy!!!

This newly opened Izakaya eatery is a branch out from the across Pahang Street the Fukusen Japanese Restuarant. This Izakaya eatery serves very tasty charcoal grilled items at reasonable prices. This item (braised chicken feet slightly grilled) is to me an outstanding item. Each feet is soft and tender and well marinated with good sauces that go into the meat. The interesting thing is the chef grilled it slightly before serving giving it a charred aroma. Really yummy. We had two servings because we really love it. The restaurant also provides good dipping sauces for the yakitori dishes.

I’ve posted about this stall before but feel that it deserves another post so to refresh those who’ve been and those who haven’t seen the previous post. Situated inside Kim San Leng Coffee Shop at Blk 116 Bukit Merah View S151116 this stall is manned by an elderly couple who cook and a helper who takes the order. For $3 you get a bowl of noodle with fish cake slices, 2 fishballs, fresh pork slices and minced meat. The well cooked noodle is added with sauces, black vinegar and pork lard bits. The aroma of the black vinegar coupled with the pork lard bits really wake up your appetite. Seriously for $3 it’s more than a value for money excellent meal.

Really value for money as the wantons and meat dumplings are filled fully and tasty. Noodles are QQ not sticking together even till the end. $3 for the wanton mee and 70 cents for each meaty dumpling. Overall yummy.

Inside Food Paradise, a coffee shop in Blk 11B Boon Tiong, is a stall run by two brothers selling roast meat, soya sauce chicken and wonton mee. The stall used to be in a coffee shop in Jalan Membina and has moved here for a while. Their soya sauce chicken can certainly be at par with the so-called Michelin starred one in Chinatown. Smooth and tender chicken with well cooked mee that’s not sticking in lump, this is easily one of the better soya sauce chicken mee. They sell a good pork rib mee too.

At the corner of the most popular area in Tiong Bahru Market & Food Centre where the queues for the fatty char siew wanton mee and the vegetarian bee hoon stalls are is the prawn mee stall which commands a short queue. The noodles are good with fresh medium sized prawns and tender pork ribs. I love the fact that the mee is well cooked and not sticking together. The chilli sauce is deliciously spicy. It has a good lot of greens and bean sprouts making the dish crunchy. Overall it’s a burping good meal.

Definitely the stall to try if you’re a fishballs lover. Has the crunchy fishballs as big as table tennis balls. Well done noodle that’s al dente to the bite and very tasty.

Seriously where can one can a plate of $3 wanton char siew mee in a coffee shop no less. Well roasted char siew, medium sized wantons and QQ noodles.

This stall has a good queue system. You order, pay, take a queue number tag and sit anywhere in the coffee and collect when you see your queue number flashed. No standing to queue! The noodle is cooked well not sticking together and the ingredients are fresh and chilli sauce was well mixed in the noodles. Overall it’s a good BCM.
