Mom went out for a grocery run and was so happy to find that this famous braised duck stall is still open; she claims they are usually sold out by late afternoon. Bought half a braised duck back at $18, not including the egg and duck gizzard, and I can see the appeal. The aromatic gravy doused over the duck does bring out the flavour of the meat, which was tender and succulent to say the least. My only gripe was their yam rice though, which lack fragrance and didnāt differ much from a normal bowl of white rice.
Generous serving of braised duck with 1/2 braised tofu and 1/2 braised egg. Sometimes Iāll opt for white rice to savour the braised sauce together with the rice. Very value for money and I dare say that Chuan Kee is overrated as I get way more meat and ingredients for the same price.
Love the duck rice here. The Chili is damn good too! Love the herbal soup that they provide. For take away, you will have to bring your own container to ask for free soup.
The duck is tender served with thick gravy, accompanied by a bowl of herbal soup and spicy Chili.
