Here at the food court, you find this very ordinarily vegetarian food stall has a long queue in front.
Unlike many vegetarian stalls that served cai fang concept, here they only sell what they have on the menu display.
The 1st on the menu is what attracted lots of people coming, which presented very nicely and I can see almost everyone will look at my set whenever they passing my table.
Yes, it is probably the best presentation of vegetarian chicken rice set you can find in hawker centre.
The set comes with kind of steam and roast chicken, which both taste different interestingly. There’s also soup, veggie, achar, sliced cucumbers and rice. Totally worth of money.
Supposedly their signature. I specially returned for it. I think the photo already tells you it's a disappointment. How beancurd skin rolled up can pass off as chicken I do not know. I've eaten better mock meat. The rice was okay, but hey it's just chicken rice.
This set consist of roasted and steam "chicken"
The steam chicken texture really like chicken skin.
The roasted chicken is machiam fried chicken.
Can see Alot of tables in this hawker centre eating this.
The rice was not bad, each grain was separated and it was quite fragrant from the sesame oil, q tasty even though it wasn’t cooked w chix stock. The mock “steamed chicken” was abit like fish cakes without the bounce, however I didn’t think it was v similar to chicken - it was rather soft & there was no bite to it, too nua for my liking. The “roasted chicken” was actually taukee, preferred this as there was some crunchiness to it. Visually, both really did look like actual chicken if you didn’t look closely! The ginger sauce could be more punchy, because I prefer a spicier ginger kick but still a nice accompaniment. Achar was sour and yummy! I love when they give achar in chix rice. They also gave a generous amount of baicai + a wedge of tomato. Would want to return and try their other stuff, I saw lemon chicken, sweet & sour chicken on their menu and I’m curious to try!
Their signature chicken rice sold out while I was queueing, so I settled for this. The curry tasted very vegetarian, but I appreciated how thick it was. The ingredients were basic but it's a filling bowl.
The amazing part here is how the rice tastes just like legit chicken rice AND the beancurd skin manages to taste like the real thing too!!! We ordered 2 portions so I think the single portion would be quite small unless you ordered something else on the side.
