Wings so crispy out and remaining succulent within. The grilling at Yardbird at HK is more calibrated - they grill it well on the outside, but just enough, while the inside remains juicy and tender. This is in contrast to many other good yakitori joints that tend to be too heavy-handed.

Now I understand why people are flocking to this yakitori restaurant in HK. There are some other good yakitori joints around in Singapore and Japan, but many can be heavy handed in their grill, resulting in shiok skewers but were too chao tar. Yardbird at HK on the other hand is very precise. They grill it well on the outside - but just enough - so that the inside remains juicy and tender.

And definitely, one of the favourites at any yakitori joint has to be the chicken oyster, which are found near the thigh of the bird. Yardbirdβs oysters are plump and juicy, and had a thin grilled crispy skin, served with sea salt and lemon. Really good.

Pleasantly surprised that our cauliflower came looking exactly like Korean fried chicken, and it's only then that I got what they meant when they named it KFC. It's seasoned with Korean fried chicken sweet sticky marinade, but it's refreshingly sweet crunchy cauliflower within. Really delicious, and less guilty!

At first I was apprehensive about ordering this, cos no other tables seemed to have ordered this as well. And when I was about to settle the bill without ordering this, I felt unsettled.. Especially when a friend over DM said, "order KFC. must!!" Now I'm so glad I did, even though it's $20 cauliflowers. It's so good.

I just found my favorite part of the chicken after my visit to Yardbird - the OYSTER. So damn bloody good. It's actually the part near the thigh area, but with much more firmer meat. No reason not to call for more orders of this! π
