Hokkaido-Style Shabu Shabu Hotpot Buffet with free-flow meat (beef, pork & chicken), vegetables, desserts & soft serve from $20.90++!
.
Customise your own dual soup hotpot with a selection of wholesome soup series like this limited edition Matcha w/ Dashi, along with other signatures like Hakodate Shio Konbu, Hokkaido Miso Butter, Collagen Paitan, Ginseng Tonkotsu & Spicy Saikyo Miso! (Swipe to end for prices & info!)
.
The matcha unlike your imagination, was rather savoury, adopting much of the taste from the dashi stock; while the vegetal & astringent taste from the green tea itself was pretty subtle and didn’t taste strange at all (might be a disappointment to matcha extremist, but hey I actually like it this way!) Overall a pretty decent combination with the shabu shabu & vegetables! The only downside could be the location itself, it’s hard for me to travel all the way back to the west again 😅 Definitely worth a try though, considering the weekday off-peak prices start from $12.90++, you West-siders are a lucky bunch.

From the Beard Papa booth at Wattention Plaza @ Jurong Point. Beard Papa's cream puffs are always good for the quick cream puff fix, especially with the crusty cookie-like crust on the pastry that makes it pretty unique to themselves. Available only for a limited time, this was totally mesmerizing for the cold Melon cream was aptly sweet yet refreshing with a good hint of Honeydew flavours. So good that I have to resist myself from going for a second even though it's totally irrational not to buy another one!
It's not often we get Snaffles here at Jurong Point! So to satisfy my sweets craving after dinner.... Matcha soft serve!
A collaboration between Beard Papa and Ito En: Matcha Pie Cream Puff (psst they also have Matcha Cookie Cream Puff for $3.30). It has won my heart for the best matcha dessert in town! They are extremely generous with the matcha filling (the Japanese baker filled my cream puff twice). It literally bursted, so please prepare some serviettes or use a straw to 'drink' the filling before starting the first bite. Aaanndd the matcha tastes strong enough for my liking. I fall in love in the first bite! Unfortunately, this special yummy puff will only last until today so better hurry down to Jurong Point Wattention (the Japanese Hall at B1). Starting from tomorrow, they will serve Strawberry Cream Puff instead :)
Melon smoothie with softserve $8 from Tomita melon house at Rakuten Japan Gourmet Festival from now till 4 Dec. Made with hokkaido melons, the juice is naturally sweet without any artifical sweeter taste. Combine with creamy smooth softserve and milk parfait. This fruity punch dessert lives up to its name.
