Treated ourselves to a hearty tze char meal at Two Chefs!
Long time since we last came here! Here is what we ordered:
-Fried sliced fish with ginger and spring onion ($12 for small)
-Coffee Pork Ribs ($12 for small)
-Hotplate Beancurd ($10 for small)
Hearty comfort food! The food was also served pretty quick! The hotplate beancurd was not what we expected though! (lol no photos to see when ordering)
You can use CDC vouchers here to pay too! We have finished using all our CDC vouchers with this visit!
Two Chefs has been an institution here at commonwealth, has been here for over a decade at least.
Everyone's must have dish when they come to 2 Chefs, is the butter Pork Ribs, a dish with tender de-boned Pork Ribs bathed in butter powder snow.
I recommend ordering large portion even for 2 pax, as any other portion surely not enough. If eating in a group, just order 2 large portions.
Ngoh Hiang not bad.
Havenβt eaten here since Covid and was near by therefore decided to dine there. There was available table at 8pm without having to queue.
Food standard has dropped IMO. Loved their cockles before, however the sauce is watered down now. Their famous butter pork ribs (milk powder) was still good. The other dishes were acceptable.
Prices are reasonable.

This is the dish they are most well-known for. The ribs were juicy and eating it with the milk powder gives a creamy taste in your mouth.

β¨Honey Ribs(θζ±ζιͺ¨)β¨
The honey is not too sweet and the ribs were fried well. It is quite flavourful and fragrant. Honestly, I prefer this over the butter pork ribs.

The Zi Char here is famous for their Milk Powder Pork Ribs ($10) and it is an interesting dish! The fried pork pieces are definitely flavourful, succulent and tender, and paired with the milky savoury topping, this is actually pretty addictive! Great to get if you are around! π
Second time is the charm! Visited the two chefs outlet at bishan years ago and didn't quite fancy it. Remembered that I ate the milk powder pork rib and went nahh what's so nice about this thing.
Fast forward a few years, visited the commonwealth outlet this time. Hesitated whether to get the milk powder pork ribs, and went ahead with ordering it. Turns out to be a good choice because this time round we greatly enjoyed it! Sweet milk powder with super soft pork ribs with no bones! Plus all the food was served quite fast and hot! Other dishes which we ordered include the sweet and sour fish, hei zo meat roll, seafood tofu and chaotah beehoon! We wanted to orfer the claypot tofu initially but it was not available when we visited.
Dined here on a Saturday night. Queue was relatively long but fast moving. And btw, no point calling to reserve seats beforehand. We called to reserve, but ended up we still had to queue up like everyone else. So no need to waste your time to call. Just head there early to queue. π They will take your order for the dishes before you are seated.
The bill for this meal for 4 pax was only $43.5! Affordable and good tzechar. Great for family gatherings!
