Had the new Kakiage Don which is like a single piece of fritters with all the vegetable, prawn and squid condensed together.
Price is reasonable and worth it.
I decided to order Signature Tenya Tendon ($9.50) (Less Rice - $0.50) but I felt that it was quite disappointed. As they got a lot of batter inside each fried items, it was not that oily for me but crunchy and crispy batter. Tenya Tendon come with Tempura Prawn, Red Fish, Squid, Pumpkin and French Beans. I didn't remembered whether I got eat squid or not but pumpkin got sweet taste, tempura prawn got a bit bland taste, red fish got soft and sweet taste and french bean was slightly hard to chew.
This was better than we expected! Stock used here was the more strongly seasoned sort and it came with crab stick, mushroom and a prawn. Pretty smooth.
Here at @tenyasg (Japan🇯🇵 No.1 Tendon Chain Restaurant), you can get affordable tendon from SGD7.90++ onwards! You can even opt for less rice to get a 50 cents discount.😉
👉Seafood Tendon - SGD13.90
tempura prawn, anago, scallop, red fish, pumpkin, french beans
👉Premium Tendon - SGD11.90
2X tempura prawn, squid, kani kama, pumpkin, lotus root, french beans
👉Hotate Carpaccio - SGD8.90
Honestly, no major complaints as the ingredients used are fresh and of good quality. Not sure if it’s just me but I SPAMED quite a lot of their signature tare sauce…😂

Option of hot/ cold udon/ soba and spicy cold udon. Enjoyed the spicy cold udon - the chilled inaniwa udon were chewy, with cucumber, Sakura ebi, cucumber, leek, bits of tempura batter for crunch and layu. Pretty spicy for me but it was refreshingly good!
Requires a $3 add on if you’re getting the set (tendon + udon).
First tried Tenya in Japan and was surprised by the quality of a chain restaurant (but then again it’s Japan😂). Pretty decent for its price, starting at $8.90 for a basic tendon. We went for the premium which came with 2x tempura prawns, squid, kani kama, pumpkin, lotus root and French beans. They were generally lightly battered and not too greasy! Prawns and squid were a tad bland but ok overall especially with the tare. I really enjoyed the sweet pumpkin slice.
I liked that there’s the option of less rice (and it’s 50cents cheaper!). For the hungry/ best of both worlds, you could get the set which comes with rice and udon (+$3 for spicy cold udon).
