Established around 1970, this humble stall is one of the remaining few that still cooks their broth over a charcoal fire. No surprise that queues typically form here.
.
The rich grainy creamy broth is sweet milky savoury spicy in flavour, with notes of coconut milk, dried shrimp, and red chili.
.
The smooth chewy thick rice vermicelli noodles with grainy sweet flavour are trimmed short, enabling it to be eaten with just a spoon.
.
A handful of daun kseum / laksa leaves lend herbal spice fragrance, while crisp bean sprouts lend vegetal sweet flavour.
.
Generously portioned springy fish cake with sweet savoury flavour, and large juicy blood cockles with briny mineral salty flavour, complete.

Delicious and not expensive with only $4 each bowl

$3 only! But portion might be small so can choose to add noodles / other ingredients. Very decent laksa as the gravy is light and not too heavy / jelat.
Queued for around 15 mins during weekday lunch.
Saw other people ordering ngoh Hiang from the other stall to go with their laksa.

Super worth queuing. Love the generous amount of cockles and freshness. Gravy is light, wont feel sick after drinking it down.

Really yummy and is just $3.

It was my first time trying this laksa and it did not disappoint. You can tell from the long queue. The long queue did not die down even after I finished my meal. Very flavourful coconut broth cooked over charcoal fire. Will definitely go back again.

$3 for a bowl of laksa. It is a small bowl, so I had 2. 😋

Have heard about this laksa for some time and glad that I've tried! The basic bowl cost $3, but I added noodles and cockles, pushing this up to $5. Definitely did not regret adding, as this bowl was delicious! Although the flavour of the soup was less salty than other places, the coconut fragrance is strong. The soup is thinner than other places; the kind that you can finish! The cockles were so fresh they only had a slight hint of gamey flavour! Worth a try if you are around the area!
