This quiet corner shop is famed for their local fare, and the Char Kuey Teow (small, RM7) in particular is a must-have. This dish ticks all the boxes for a great plate of char kuey teow: noodles imbued with wok-hei and a generous serving of prawns and cockles. The Burpple community is also a big fan of the Hakka Noodles (from RM6) that's comforting and made for a quick lunch fix. Ps. Service is a bit slow for the drinks, so we suggest popping in for a quick meal and moving along elsewhere for something to sip on!

A critical indicator for a good plate of CKT all comes down to the level of “wok hei” in the dish. Thankfully, this stall’s CKT definitely meets the standard.
I like that the bean sprouts were fat and juicy. Although the cockles weren’t impressively huge, it was still an acceptable size in KL’s standards.
When it comes to hawker fare, Alison encompasses the best of Sri Petaling. On weekends, take your family out to this forever-packed locale for a cheap and good brunch. A mother-daughter duo dishes out wok hei-laden Char Kuey Teow (from RM6), chock-full of plump prawns and cockles. If you enjoy your noodles with an edge, ask for the spicy version that packs quite a punch! Just two stalls down is the uncle who cooks up a mean Claypot Lou Shu Fun (from RM7). Jewelled with a raw egg that slowly cooks itself from the heat, this piping-hot dark sauce noodles is definitely worth ordering. Finally, there is Hakka Noodles (from RM6), springy noodles tossed in a mild housemade sauce that gets help from a bounteous share of deeply flavoured minced meat. Pro tip: Wake up early and arrive before 11am for this because seats fill up fast!
Avg price per person: RM15

Have been frequenting this hawker centre since my primary school days, and nothing beats the comforts of this Hakka Noodles (from RM6) topped with a beautiful mess of minced meat. They now make it a little different from the old days - the noodles are no longer the homemade eggy kind and neither is it served in a bowl anymore. But still a good lunch fix, no doubt!
