Nom's Cafe (Esplanade Xchange)

Lured by the draw of pretty cakes, my group of 6 headed off to NOM for a nomming good time. (Horrible pun, I know, forgive me.) 

We had the Classic Eggs Benedict ($9.90), Smoked Duck Thin Crust Pizza and Breakfast Rossi ($14.90). It was all okay, but nothing really special that we felt we had to come back for again. The Smoked Duck Pizza was good, but a tad oily - my friends commented that Timber's version is much better.

For drinks, we ordered the Cookies N Cream Chocolate ($4.90), and the Salted Caramel Chocolate ($4.90). The drinks were not too sweet, but the chocolate taste was not as strong as we would have liked it. Pretty presentation overall though.

Next, the reason why we went to NOM: the cakes! The cakes are subjected to availability, but I can't remember how much they cost. We got the Mango Cheesecake, Oreo Rainbow Cake, and Salted Caramel Rainbow Cake. The cheesecake was okay - the texture was light and creamy, but the taste was lacking. Perfect for those who prefer light cheesecakes! The Oreo Rainbow Cake was pretty, but really dry. The Salted Caramel Rainbow Cake was a lot better, with a good moist texture. However, both cakes tasted almost the same, even though one was oreo and the other salted caramel.

Overall, NOM's has decent, okay food. Nothing much to wow about, but photography-wise, the food photographs really well, with good lighting and ambience. Come if you haven't tried rainbow cakes before, and if you're curious about how it tastes!
