First time to the Nakhon outlet at Sengkang. Beef was fragrant albeit abit tough. However for the price, it’s still worth a try.
tomyum noodle soup (with rice noodle). cheap and good. superb broth.$5 nett.
craving for Nakhon, so here’s a throwback to this plate of glistening goodness 😢
I honestly think their version is better than Thai Tantric’s at Orchard tower. Patronised the latter sometime back and felt the standards seemed to have drop quite a bit. Anyone else feels the same way?
• tom yum soup thick base ($6)
• stir-fried kangkong vegetables in belachan flavour ($6)
• white rice ($1)
• thai iced red milk tea ($3)
The soup is extremely tasty - very spicy and sour with a tinge of sweetness. Ingredients include mushrooms and the choice of chicken / seafood / prawns. The portion is quite good so we should have shared a bowl instead of ordering one each.
The kangkong vegetables came topped with fried garlic. This dish is of a rather small portion and its flavour can be more salted. Instead, it was slightly sweet which I do not fancy that much.
The thai iced milk tea was average at best - not as fragrant as thai iced tea should be and it could definitely be sweeter.
My rating:
Tom yum soup: 10/10
Kangkong vegetables: 6/10
Thai iced tea: 5/10
Queued for more than an hour in jan 21 for 2 pax dining in. Disappointment as I think most of the dishes that I have ordered do not taste as good compared to what I have at other places. The green Thai tea also tasted too sweet for my liking yet at the same time feels diluted.
