Famous for their quality chicken soup, this Chinese restaurant specialises in Yunnan ethnic highland cuisines 🥹🫶

Here’s what we chose from their extensive 73-page menu!

🌟 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗼𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗯 ($𝟯𝟰.𝟵𝟬)
A must get! Can you believe that this chicken soup is prepared without adding a single drop of water? 🍲 That’s because the chicken is specially brewed in a pressure-steaming claypot for hours. The soup that we see is a result of the condensation during this process. While the chicken chunks in the soup could be bland if you eat it as it is, the dish is also served with beansprouts and mala sauce 🔥

There are limited quantity to the skewers so do visit early to avoid disappointment! When we visited on a weekend dinner (~6pm), most of the skewers were already sold out. We had…

🥓 Charcoal Grilled Pork Belly
🐖 Poached Pork Collar with Pickled Chilli
🐟 Braised Beancurd with Fish Maw and Cordyceps Flower

Would recommend visiting in a big group to try more dishes!

Made with tender braised fish maw and wild porcini mushrooms, this signature dish ($44.80 small, $54.80 large) is a hit at the table!

Tucked away at Sims Avenue, this is probably one of the most satisfying and affordable hand-torn noodles I’ve had 🤌

We ordered both the mee hoon kueh and you mian. Add in your desired amount of chilli and give it a good mix 🌶️ Overall, I enjoyed this much more than it’s better known counterpart Top 1 Homemade Noodle (and lesser wait time too) 🤭

A good spot for affordable satisfying noodles, especially MHK. Would revisit to try their dry ban mian too ✨

This is one of the oldest Taiwanese restaurants in Singapore. We had the Steamed Seabass with Chye Poh and Garlic 雙寶金目鱸 decorated with fragrant garlic and chye poh (preserved radish) bits 🐟

Express your love with their specially-curated menu Parents’ Day Menu ($268) that serves 4-5 pax 🫶

Don’t be fooled by its looks! Thought this was tofu initially and was surprised to find out that it is actually spinach steamed egg. Enjoyed this! 👍

If you’re looking for a place for festive gatherings with friends/family, consider Tai Er for their famous Chinese-style Sauerkraut Fish 🐟🔥

With tender fish slices in the tangy appetising broth, this is best enjoyed with a bowl of fluffy Chinese Wuchang rice 🍚

The cabbage used is said to be pickled for close to a month to get its refreshing crispy texture. In fact, the restaurant prides itself for having sauerkraut that tastes better than their fish 😳

Starting from $48 onwards, the Chinese Sauerkraut Fish can feed upwards of 2 people. Choose from a range of different ingredients, such as enoki mushroom and vermicelli 🍄

Don’t forget to cleanse your appetite with the free-flow Roselle Orange Peel Tea from the tea station ✨
