Carnivorous
Wanted to use the Burpple Beyond deal, but it was much more limited in terms of the selection, so we ended up using a deal from The Entertainer. 2 sets of Steak and Eggs for around 40 bucks.
Asked for medium rare, was nearly well-done the first time, sent it back and they re-did it but it was still at least medium well and I didn't bother anymore the second time.
Also the server Nora was kind of grumpy and snappy?
The meats are great and we spent just slightly more than $100 for 2 - we ordered 2 meats (Wagyu ribeye and tritip) and a yukke (pictured), a drink and rice for each of us. Service from Audrey is however really slow and bordering on rude.
Beef tartare and pan-seared scallops are great as starters. The ribeye steak and rack of lamb are both perfectly grilled and flavourful. Service is a little lacking (slow and inattentive when it got busy at 8pm) for the setting and the prices we pay, but still friendly.
We were a group of 5 and we ordered 5 different items off the rather limited lunch menu. Each is on point and really tasty, and we were pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices - each bowl cost less than SGD20, and they don't charge GST (just 10% service charge).
Enjoyed the cosy and comfortable environment, and service is really attentive with the team always checking in on us and topping up our water without being asked. Will be back another day to try other items on the menu!
(One of the chefs on duty that day wasn't very hygienic - we could see from our seats very clearly into the open kitchen. Other than when tasting the food, he also kept his mask down for extended periods of time.)
We were told that the lamb shank is only well-done, because it's cooked by sous vide. Hesitant at first but we were amazed by how tender and juicy it is. Perfectly done, with a flavourful sauce that complemented the taste of the lamb so well.
Ribeye steak. (250 grams) was well-marinated, tender, and perfectly grilled. The medium-rare steak had a good balance of meat and fats, and the beef fats melted in my mouth.
