Decided to go for dinner at bbq under the stars at turf city. It was pretty near the entrance with a few signages to tell you where to go so it was quite easy to find. The place had a chill cosy vibe and served ala carte buffet. The items were made to order and came out in tasting portions meaning we could try a wide variety of their food. Some of my favorite dishes were the grilled prawns - smoky and well seasoned without being over cooked, the grilled salmon - flavorful and juicy, calamari - hot, crispy and so tasty! Really enjoyed the food here and the service was excellent! Will definitely be back!!
Visited La Savoir the other day for lunch and we were very impressed by the decor of the place. Started with the porcini mushroom soup - morel and porcini mushroom, dried apricots and cordyceps. So flavourful, I thought the dried apricots and cordyceps were a nice touch to this rich velvety soup.
Also had the scallop risotto, which looked incredible. The scallops were nicely seared which pairs nicely with the salty creamy risotto.
Highly recommend it!
Visited Shukuu Izakaya last night, it is conveniently located near telok ayer mrt. We ordered a variety of dishes, and some of my favorites are their Gyu ponzu - beef slices marinated in ponzu sauce topped with some ebiko; grilled surume squid - the dish came out hot and the the squid was grilled to perfection, the chew was just right; gyu tan (beef tongue) - don’t knock it till you try it! It was cooked well and so very flavourful! Would have ordered another portion if I had more stomach space! Will definitely be back to try more of their dishes and their sake pairing!
Sunday afternoon lunch at One Prawn & co. Ordered the supreme prawn noodles which had big prawns, lala, tobiko prawn balls and pork ribs
. Tasty saucy noodles and the broth was so flavourful (Gao!). It came in a clay pot and when served, was still bubbling. The service was really good, the staff were attentive and it was pretty warm day and when the queue was long, we saw them offering drinks to the customers in line. Highly recommend!
Tried the Joo Chiat Kim Choo rice dumpling the other day and 🤤 it’s so good, the rice is very flavorful and it’s packed full of ingredients. The meat inside was also very well cooked, it wasn’t tough or dry but still retained its juiciness. Tried the Hokkien rice dumpling with salted egg yolk and Emperor rice dumplings! Both which I highly recommend! 👍👍
Visited chir chir chicken at Bugis the other day! The food was good, we ordered the rose cheese chiqueen - crispy chicken tenders in a creamy mix of mozzarella and fondue cheese. The portion was big, and probably meant for 2-3 to share. We also ordered the half portion of spicy yangnyeom crispy chicken. It was a generous plate of delicious hot crispy chicken in a sweet spicy sauce, very tasty :) will definitely be back to try their other dishes!
Decided on Old God Mother pork ribs with a side of coleslaw and chili cheese fries. The ribs were very well cooked, tender and juicy and the marinade was spicy and flavorful :) we also had the cobs salad. Tasty and refreshing! the portion is pretty big too so it’s great for sharing! Will definitely be back to try the items on the menu :)
Got the truffle beef bowl and the salmon mentaiko bowl. So good! The beef was v flavourful! The salmon was really good too! They were really generous in their portions, look at the thick slab of salmon?? We also got the kombucha and it was fizzy and so refreshing! I really like the taste of the mountain oolong kombucha, it was light and you can really taste the oolong tea in it.
The cafe is conveniently located at Telok Ayer near China square so def will be back for lunch😬
A must order dish when you visit PIPES is the Honey Toast! Creamy soft serve paired with a warm chewy shokupan. The insides of the shokupan were stretchy and honeyed. There was a drizzling of tarty berry jam too which went so well with the creamy ice cream. 😍 haha also bought some puddings to indulge in at home ☺️
