now THIS is what i mean by some solid dry ban mian. this 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢 𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧 (~𝐒𝐆𝐃𝟒) is truly chilli to the max lol the auntie just put a lil bit (less than 1tsp) but my mouth burns alr. it’s also super flavourful with all the pork lard and generous amount of toppings 🔥 massive craves for this all the time 🤤

Old airport road is no doubt one of my favourite hawker centres with SO many good stalls to choose from. I know there is another more famous hokkien mee store, but this is my go to for hokkien mee here because the queue isn’t as long. 😛 Here is my decent $4 plate of hokkien mee - the noodles are cooked just right and their chilli is so spicy but shiOkz! 💯 However, their prawns aren’t really fresh, although they are quite generous with their ingredients esp if you’re their last few customers. Still good 👍

This shop has been the talk of the town (a while back) for creating ding tai fung standard egg fried rice for half the price. Did it live up to expectations? A big fat YES. This 𝐄𝐠𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐭 (𝐒𝐆𝐃𝟔.𝟓𝟎) tastes just like the restaurant’s one. Rice is flavourful and portion is generous. The only down side is that it’s so popular the food takes 1h to come & this particular hawker center is quite hot & stuffy. Other than that, very worth a try 👍

Kinda ex for hawker center price and I’ve tasted better curry rice before so nah from me. Maybe their curry chicken is better idk

Hickory BBQ Chicken (~SGD7): Yes this is on the high-ish side for hawker food, but the portions are HUMONGOUS and very tasty. The food was nothing to scream about but to me, this is like upsized Astons for a cheaper price, and its super worth. Do give this place a try when you pop by old airport road hawker center. The uncle and auntie running the stall are really nice as well :’)
