I am personally not a high tea person esepcially because I am not a fan of sweet things. When I learnt that Violet Oon's tea set delivers a predominantly savouruy high tea menu, I knew I had to give it a try. Sure enough, I did enjoy the savoury elements in this high tea more than the sweet. While the size of each treat were pretty tiny, I thought it was just right as I was full after. My favorites for the savoury treats were the Kuay Pie Tee and the Chilli Crab Tartlet with Quail Egg. On the other hand, I was not a fan of the Cream Cheese and Cucumber Open Face Sandwich simply because it was nothing special. The other savoury treats were also interesting in their own right, with very strong flavours.

Onto the sweet treats, I personally thought they were just decent. I did like the Orh Nee cream puff because I thought it was unique and aesthetic, but for the other kueh delights, I do think you can get them at a much cheaper price at your kueh stalls elsewhere, instead of having it "high tea" style.

I enjoyed the scones as well. It was buttery, light and slightly flaky. Thought the texture was just right, and the clotted cream and pineapple jam provided went very well with it.

- Egg Salad Tartlet with Pineapple Patcharee
- Coronation Chicken on Crispy Wanton skin
- Cream Cheese and Cucumber Open Face Sandwich
- Otak on Belgium Endive

- Chilli Crab Tartlet with Quail Egg

Sweet:
- Kueh Ko Sui
- Kueh Beng Kah
- Sugee Financier
- Orh Nee Cream Puff
- Pandan Coconut Agar Agar
- Scones (A selection of four house-made scones — two plain and two gula melaka, served with clotted cream and jams)

Selection of Drinks: No limit, can choose to switch your drinks upon finishing.
- Any Chocolates
- Any Coffee
- Luxury Earl Grey
- Berry Lemongrass Chammomile Twist

The vibes of ATLAS screams sophistication & opulence - and this goes without saying that one needs a drink in hand. But for those who are unable to take alcohol for whatever reason, you’re not left out! There are non alcoholic options for their specialty drinks as well, allowing you to bask with your friends in ATLAS’ opulence and match the vibe.

Summer in Paris is one of the non-alcoholic options, a concoction of Chardonnay grape verjus, lemon berry tea, and old world tonic. (FYI, you can have it with wine & gin for the alcohol option.) This was a ‘sparkling medley of flavours’ as promised, with a tad bit of sweetness but acidity from the verjus, which might be repulsive on the first taste as vinegar. Nonetheless, as unfermented grape juice made from unriped grapes, it was definitely less harsh than vinegar. I was still greeted with a pleasant sour and sweet combination in this drink, a light and tingly ending to finish off the meal.

The 200g option comes as a Black Angus Sirloin for $42. The other option is the 300g Angus Tenderloin for $76. The steak was well cooked at medium rare as requested with a good sear. I loved the smoked bone marrow butter together with each bite of steak. It gave a very light buttery yet creamy flavour to the meat. The capers also gave a good crunch with every bite. I liked the fries. It isn’t the crispiest but it was still adequately crisp, as well as fresh, hot, and well-seasoned. The steak was doused in a generous amount of red wine jus which was pretty decent, giving the usual red wine flavour to the meat. The watercress as a side however, was a super weird addition to me. I would have preferred an ordinary salad with rockets or arrowheads, on top of the fact that the watercress was just plain raw leaves at the side of the plate. I suspect that the excess jus is meant to be eaten with the watercress, but that isn’t really the best combination either. Nonetheless, the quality and portion of the steak is relatively worth the price, especially with the luxurious ambience one is enjoying their meal in. The grandeur of the decoration and opulent comfort of the dining area truly makes this place worth a visit!

Decked in chandeliers, The Lobby Lounge gives a classy, laid-back atmosphere for one to enjoy a hearty conversation over tea and treats. Comfortable seating and impeccable service provide a sophisticated experience to chill and relax on a warm, sunny day in Singapore. The crowd in the mid-afternoon seems to show The Lobby Lounge’s speciality - High Tea, when friends and couples come to enjoy both savoury and sweet treats. This time, The Lobby Lounge has collaborated with Chantecaille, a luxury beauty brand that specialises in botanically based and sustainable products. It showcases an elegant presentation of 14 treats, varying from scones, savoury tarts and sweet treats like macarons and chocolates. With the theme being Rose de Mai, there are pink hues to many of their sweet treats - most encompassed by peach and rose flavours. The savoury treats included ingredients like salmon and scallop, giving a good savoury balance to the two tiers of sweet treats. Hot treats included scones and a salmon thyme quiche, which was encouraged by our server to be eaten first. Each treat has its own unique element, all tasting completely different from one another and delicious in their own way. This high tea set comes with 2 rounds of drink each - and we were allowed to change our drink after the first. With a total of 4 drinks for 2 sets, we enjoyed a cup of cappuccino, and three pots of Sencha Meicha, Moroccan Mint and their special Inter-continental Singapore Heritage Tea. The brew of all the teas were strong, but I would recommend trying the Singapore Heritage Tea, for not only is it unique, it has a pleasant fruity subtleness to it, which I personally enjoyed.
A relaxing experience guaranteed, for there is no rush to finish the treats. Serving their High Tea from 1pm to 5.30pm, it is important to make a reservation with them first.
P.S. Pictured 2 sets for 2 pax, total of 4 drinks & 28 treats.
