High Tea
Finally found a high tea place with delicious scones (now that Marriott Tangs no longer serves them). Plus at a one for one price point + excellent service, the high tea is worth returning for.
I’ve always loved the high tea at lobby lounge and had visited a few times over the years. It’s one of the most value for money high tea (food was refillable) + quality food, especially the scones which was one of the best I’ve had. Sadly, it’s no longer refillable, which no longer makes it value for money given the little variety & common pastries. They’ve also removed scones from the lineup. The best item was probably the satay which I suspect isn’t really part of the usual high tea menu. From the high tea menu? Probably the egg mayo sandwich. But what really affected me was the service which really dropped. After being seated for 30 mins, no one came over to take our orders and I had to walk over to the counter and ask for the tea menu. When settling the bill, I again waited for a good 15-20 mins before I had to walk over to the counter to get my credit card back. As a five star hotel, I would expect service standards to be maintained at the very least if you’re going to cut cost via food.
