During my trip to Penang, I went to ‘Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul’, one of the more well-known vendors for chendol at Keng Kwee Street.✨As usual, there was a long queue of tourists and we had to wait for roughly 15 mins before getting our cold bowl of goodness.🤤I didn’t find it worth the wait as the gula meleka wasn’t strong, making it kinda diluted. Perhaps lesser sugar was added to mine. Let me know your thoughts if have tried it too! ☺️

Located one street down from Sister Curry Mee is Pasar Air Itam Laksa, aka Penang Asam Laksa. 🍜 There seem to be a system ongoing in the store, where each staff oversees a specific station. Your bowl of piping hot laksa will be served within minutes after seating. The dish contains of many ingredients such as cucumber, onions and mint.✨It has an acquired taste, where not many people are able to accept. I might not be the best person to comment on the dish as I am not a big fan of it.😅My friend is a big fan of it and swears by it. She claims it was the BEST meal she had this entire trip. PS: She eats like an ant BUT FINISHED THE BOWL ON HER OWN. 🤭

Like its name, Sister Curry Mee is managed by 2 sisters 👯♀️, along a small alley in Ayer Itam Penang. A typical day of theirs begin at 4:30am, preparing all the ingredients for their humble bowl of curry mee 🍜. I remember running to the store as they were about to close at 1pm. Luckily, we were served the last few bowls of curry mee.🤤 The broth was on the lighter side and not too spicy (unless you mix the chilli paste). The cuttlefish and cockles were fresh, complementing well with the broth. It might not be the best bowl of curry mee, but you will get the full experience of dining like a local.✨

A&W’s Malaysia chicken was real dry as compared to the one I tried in batam few years ago. However their fries made up for it. Soft in the centre and crispy on the outside. Anyone knows how’s Singapore’s version? 🤨

The chicken wings along JB Meldrum Walk are TO DIE FOR. I have been there countless of times and their wings are always tender and juicy. Be prepared to wait as they are barbecued upon order. There is only one store selling chicken wing along the street so you can’t go wrong. It’s beside a bak kut teh and drinks store. Do go earlier as they close once they sell out! Not sure what time they close but I always patron around 5-6pm+ when they just opened.
Went around dinner time and there was a long queue. Was expecting it to be good due to the long queue but it was only average. Prices were affordable (mains mostly $5.90) but this translates to smaller portion of food. I guess I would rather travel a little further to Nakhon Kitchen at Yishun Street 21 for better service and quality of food.
The perfect breakfast and tea time snack. Toast is crispy with generous kaya spread ($2.60). Only wish for it to be served hotter! ✨
Tried both their signature pork chop bun and polo pork chop bun ($6.90 each). The polo version is a good combination of sweet and savoury. Pork is nice and tender. Only wish is bun is toasted longer for the crisp✨
Located right beside Hiap Joo Bakery is this underrated restaurant. I always get a platter of their roasted meats as they are all equally good. Char siew has a good charred while sio bak skin was cracking!✨
