Take a seat at the counter and admire the extravagant arches and elegant details at this snazzy restaurant off Neil Road. You’re here for a pasta feast, starting with the Tagliolini Nero ($35) with uni, scallop and squid in an umami seafood reduction. Also share the tomato-based Taglierini ($32) with creamy stracciatella and chili padi that provides a nice kick. The Cacio e Pepe ($29) may look simple, but doesn’t fail to satisfy. Finish with their 72% Venezuela Cocoa Cake ($12.50) lightly seasoned with pink sea salt and served with vanilla gelato.

Impress your date at this hip, unfussy joint on Club Street that's great for inventive cooking and natural wines (they carry small quantities of ~200 types). Start with their House-baked Sourdough ($6) and house-cured Charcuterie ($16). Then, have the Cedar Jelly and Foie Gras Toast ($16) for a melt-in-your-mouth moment you won't forget. The menu changes frequently, but the Beef Tongue Sammy ($26) and the Endive ($21) — a salad that is perfectly complemented by Kyoho grape and tete de moine cheese — are mainstays you must not miss. If available, end your meal with the Birch Syrup Tart.

Start with the house favourite Housemade Ricotta ($15), drizzled with chestnut honey and served with crisp sourdough toast. On mains, don't leave without ordering the sublimely umami and peppery Mafaldine "Cacio e Pepe" ($25).

It's not difficult to see why this Michelin-starred spot along Keong Saik Road is highly beloved by the foodie community – the digs are spacious, ambience is welcoming, and the food's fantastic. Treat yourself to their 7-Course Autumn Set Menu ($188) or go for the 4-Course Lunch Menu ($98) — Burppler Nobelle Liew recommends the Jeju Abalone Multigrain Risotto for an additional $10. "No pretentious bullshit" is the headliner at this act, and the experience speaks for itself. Everything is house-made – from their bread down to the pastry used for their tasty Beef Empanadas ($16 for two). Evolving from its predescessor Cheek by Jowl, keep this this younger, funkier spot in mind for your next date night. Order the crisp Barramundi ($36), that comes with a side of braised leeks on an umami mussel-based sauce. Alternatively, opt for their excellent Waffle with Chicken Liver Parfait ($6) and their cold Smoked Tomato Granita ($6) for mouthfuls of umami and briny fresh oyster. Then go for the classic yet kicky Burrata ($22) with tomatoes and fermented green chilli.

Go for the punchy Brawn Terrine ($12), before diving into the comforting Mac n Cheese ($18) that's topped with a house-cured egg yolk. A range of craft beers are available here, such as the malty and delicately sweet Rye on Wood (from $8 for 200ml).

Feast on premium grills (made with meat from halal-certified suppliers!) while enjoying the scenic city skyline at this grillhouse. If steak is what you're here for, don't hesitate on the flavourful grain-fed USDA Prime, Omaha, USA Sirloin ($74/340g), flaunting a rich crusty char. Though on the pricey side, the creamy and cheesy Boston Lobster Thermidor ($88) cooked in a white wine sauce is worth the splurge.
