Taiwanese Cuisine
To chase away the Monday blues, time to pamper yourself with some yummy Taiwanese cuisine from The Salted Plum. The Salted Plum has recently launched its second outlet @sunteccity west wing basement one with a more spacious dining area (76 seats). Featuring a few of my favourite dishes from The Salted Plum:
š½ Lu Rou 2.0 ($15)
š½ Cold Tofu ($10) - Haus Soy, Century egg, & Fried Shallots
š½ Burnt Chilli Chicken ($10)
š½ Sweet Potato Congee ($3)
š½ Taiwanese Sausage Patties ($10)
š½ Red Tea Jelly ($5)
Lu Rou 2.0 is definitely a must order when you visit the store, and personally as I have ordered the braised pork belly during my visit at the Circular Road outlet about a year ago (5 Aug 18 post), I like the upgraded version of lu rou especially with the light dang gui taste and the succulent meat which has a great ratio of meat:fats.
The cold tofu may sound like a simple dish, yet it is addictive. The sweet potato congee is actually good by itself as the chef have added dashi stock and fried shallots to enhance its taste.
The Red Tea Jelly with a generous portion of brown sugar boba is definitely a dessert to sum a sweet ending to a delicious taiwanese meal. The dessert is good for sharing as the portion is relatively huge so do remember to leave some stomach space for dessert.
The Salted Plum is definitely somewhere ideal for gathering with friends/ family to enjoy a hearty and comfort meal especially when you misses Taiwanese style food!
Thank you @sixthsensepr for the invite & warm hosting, @thesaltedplumsg for the yummy spread of food!
Another dish which I personally enjoyed would be their golden mushrooms ($8). It comprises of 5 different types of mushrooms namely enoki, shiitake, shimeiji, abalone and king oyster. I am an avid mushroom lover, and fried mushrooms are definitely a side dish which I will look for whenever I visit any Taiwanese eatery. I like that we can simply enjoy the juicy mushrooms without having to dip it in any sauce.
Today I will be sharing with you guys some of my favourite Taiwanese golden delights (å°å)from @ludingji.sg .One of my favourites would be their LDJ Crispy Chawanmushi ($8). This is a dish specially innovated by Chef Kayne and there is actually a story behind the origin of this special dish. The crispy chawanmushi is definitely a delight that every chawanmushi lovers must try. I like how the crispy chawanmushi has a crispy outer layer, and yet still remain soft and savory in its inner layers.
I was really excited when Ludingji contacted & invited me to visit their outlet to try their mouthwatering Taiwanese dishes. Personally, Taiwan is my long-standing favourite travel destination and I have always been a huge fan of Taiwanese cuisine. I will be sharing with you guys a few of my favourite mains from Ludingji:
š½ Braised Chicken Rice Bowl ($8.50)
š½ Pork Rice Bowl ($9.50)
š½ Wagyu Noodle Bowl ($18.50)
My personal favourite would be their Braised Chicken Rice Bowl. The tender Boneless Chicken Thigh was braised with Ludingjiās special sauce for many hours overnight. The chicken thigh meat was really succulent and moist. The braised lava egg is another item that has impressed me. After multiple attempts and practice, Chef Kayne has finally managed to perfect his braised lava egg, which goes really well with the rice bowl.
Apart from the presentation and taste of the food, what matters a lot as well is the customer service. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was filled with homely vibes. Do visit å¤é¼č®° for their é¦å³åÆå£ēå¤å³.
Thank you @ludingji.sg for the invite and warm hosting! š Ludingji
Did not have the chance to visit my favourite country (Taiwan) this year and I guess the other alternative for me would be to visit the shops that sell authentic Taiwanese food in Singapore.
Personally, I have been wanting to jio my friends to visit Eat 3 Bowls, but somehow somethings crop out along the way. I am glad that we finally had the chance to try it together. In fact, actually I went to visit them twice in the same week š. My favourite bowl from Eat 3 Bowls would be either their mee sua or the lu rou fan and it makes me feel as though I am at Taiwan.
A good place to visit to satisfy Taiwanese food craving, but do note that items might be sold out before official closing hours. š Eat 3 Bowls
