[Utretcht] Digging up some pictures of the food I tried when I was solo tripping in the UK and Netherlands last summer. This was actually pretty good from what I remember of it. I was getting tired of the lack of spiciness in European food, but this stall had some powder that granted it a wisp of heat - not a lot, but amount of it was appreciated, I must say. š¤
Schanulleke is named after a cartoon character of a white male kid and is supposedly the smallest size they had. But personally, hailing from Singapore, where portions of food are smaller on average, this wasā¦pretty difficult to finish on my own. š¤§ (7.4/10)
[Amsterdam] Blue Amsterdam is a gorgeous restaurant/bar that is tucked away from the touristy action at the ground floor and nestled comfortably at the top floor of Centrum Mall. Go in the afternoon like I did, and be prepared to be mesmerised by the bright, panoramic, scenic views of Amsterdam that it has to offer. This was actually a recommendation by a friend who is currently studying in the Netherlands, but even then, I didnāt know what it was going to look like hahaha. The moment I exited the lift, I was already astonished by how ultra-modern and well-lit the place was! š
The food was so-so though. I had the Scrambled Eggs with Spinach and Smoked Salmon on Sourdough toasts here. While it was pretty tasty, I couldnāt really find any unique, marked quality to it. Iād say itās something that you can make at home, and itāll still turn out just as great. What Iām trying to say is - I guess I canāt complain about it as much as I canāt shout about it. š
But their service was really awesome! The crew sustained their warmth and friendliness from start to finish of my time there, which even included a part where I left the place, realised left my cap 10 minutes later, rushed back up and found that theyād kept it for me. Kind of embarrassing, but fun times! š Blue Amsterdam was definitely a place to remember. š (7.3/10)
