If you’re at Westgate seeking for a more Budget option (below $10), do give kushiya a try! The chicken and vegetables in the bowl are charcoaled grilled and they’re really good. My favourite part of the bowl was really the vegetables, they were grilled so well and were so flavourful! The rice was definitely too bland and needed to be drowned in sauce but the rice of the bowl was fantastic for its price! There’s also free flow tea and while the service was a bit slow during dinner time, the workers were very friendly and even compensated my Friend with a skewer on the house when his rice came late because they ran out and had to cook more. I won’t be making special trips down to Jurong just for kushiya but if I’m there, it’ll definitely be one of my top choices for a more budget meal.
I had the $9.90 QQ Cheezy burger - the patty is mushroom stem and the cheese is a homemade cashew cheese. The mushroom was fried soooo well and while I wouldn’t say it tasted or felt like meat, it was still really really satisfying and good. The creamy cashew cheese was interesting, and the nuttiness surprisingly went really well with the rest of the burger, it really didn’t taste much like cashews! Overall, while the buns weren’t great (a little dry), the patty and cheese were really great and I enjoyed the burger very much.👌🏻 Don’t expect it to taste like an American cheese burger or a McChicken and you might just find your favourite vegan burger on nom v nom’s Super extensive menu of burgers! (ALSO if you’re there and considering ordering a side, go for the goro balls, they’re made up of deep fried mashed potatoes and are SUPER tasty!)
For $4.90, you get beautifully buttered brioche toasts and creamy scrambled eggs alongside their special sauce and some shredded chicken. This was a little messy to eat and probably a little pricey for a sandwich but I thought it was really worth a try and would probably go back for more once in awhile!
They have $3/$4 options available, we got the $4 portion. This was a pleasant surprise!! The rice and sauce were both very fragrant, the rice was moist and well cooked, not dry at all. They gave a hearty portion of duck, the duck wasn’t extremely tender but it wasn’t tough either, eaten together with the Chili, it was pretty good. The accompanying soup they gave had a aromatic herbal taste, very good if you’re into herbal soups! Would give this a 4/5 overall :~)

Got the $5 happiness bowl from 家乐 yong tau foo! The portion size was huge, soup was very tasty, the ingredient fillings were fresh. Chose the Kway Teow noodles which were a little too soft for my liking, but overall it was a good pick for a rainy day :~)
