Just because I've heard so much praise for their Braised Meat Rice ($4.50), I made no hesitations to order it. I am aware the price is almost double of what was sold when they were at Seah Im, but I guess that's the downside to having your own space, though I didn't feel the pain of paying more because I never went to their previous branch. 😅

I would say the dish comes as relatively small if you're someone who eats bigger meals, but generously topped with braised meat and sauce. Best one I've had in Singapore without a doubt! I loved every moment of this; the tender and melty, fatty braised meat is soooo good with the sauce and rice, all of which I feel have a rather balanced ratio of proportions. I thought the overall size is just right, especially when I am having a drink or sides along with it, but then again that's just me. For $4.50, I honestly feel that it is not at all pricey, and more importantly, this thoroughly exceeds expectations - considering I just came back from Taiwan like 2 months ago - and I am so happy to have found another 卤肉饭 in Singapore that I'd more than gladly return to! 😋❤️

Feels kinda weird to see braised meat rice separated two ways: the meat and the rice, but it was certainly a first for me at Mister Wu with Mr Su's Braised Pork Rice ($8).

It's nothing like the familiar Taiwanese 滷肉饭 but rather feels a bit like a mini zichar dish.

I really like the braised pork - mostly lean with hints of gelatinous, melty fats. I can only wish there was more meat though. As for the rice, the sauce is pretty stinged on, though I can add some from the meat. The egg is an ajitama egg with its slight runny yolk and jelly-like texture, which I find to be a nice touch to the dish.

Thinking about this Chicken Floss, Seaweed and Condensed Milk Waffle ($2).

Nope, you read it right - condensed milk! While it sounds like it is set to be a conflicting mess in terms of flavours, the sweetness of the condensed milk complements the savouriness of the remaining components. In fact, I would actually prefer more condensed milk to make this waffle a little sweeter! 😄 Word of advice though: don't arrive too late as the food at Scorch sells out fast! 😅

This is part of a meal hosted by @scorch_eatery! 🤗
