Japan Eats 🇯🇵
This simple yet filling Japanese classic comes across as a family dish to me, one that brings about warm fuzzy feelings in your heart and stomach 🌈
Lightly seasoned, the rice was first steamed in a wooden round container (wappa) before being topped off with assorted seafood and a dollop of rich seafood paste. The delicate taste of the rice paired with the sweetness of the seafood was truly one of a kind.
Without the fluffy eggs and sautéed onions, this certainly doesn't look like your typical Katsu Don. But don't be turned off by this plain-looking rendition. This ヒレカツ丼 Hire Katsu Don consists of crispy yet tender deep fried pork fillets (instead of the typical loin) that could not have been tastier. And of course, not forgetting that delicious タレ tare sauce ✔️ Sumimasen, another bowl here please!
The yakisoba noodles make the difference between the two renditions. Plus, each ingredient is added separately here instead of the Kansai mix-it-all-up style. I ordered mine with an extra sunny side up, because why not? I love the creaminess of the yolk paired with noodles 😍
The star was surely the intensely flavourful chicken broth. You get the highest of the highest of chicken flavours. 😍
It is everything you will ever want in a gyoza 👌🏻 And it's just 260yen for 6 of these babies WHUT?!
